Bled is an Alpine town which represents one of the oldest and most beautiful tourist destinations in Slovenia. Its main attraction is the lake which surrounds Bled Island. The island has several buildings, the main one being the Gothic church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The church has a make-a-wish bell and is frequently visited by newlyweds and other guests. Lake Bled will certainly leave you speechless since it offers various sport activities and represents a place where you can spend the most romantic moments of your life. On the trip, you will walk around the lake enjoying the fresh alpine air and watching swans and ducks at play. Also, you will admire Bled Castle built on a precipice above the glacial lake which according to written sources is the oldest Slovene castle. At the end, you will pass by some other local monuments and refresh ourselves with a delicious vanilla and custard cream cake called cremeschnitte (kremšnita). You will also have a chance to take some beautiful photos of the lake, island, castle and the nearby Alps.
Ljubljana, the capital and largest city in Slovenia, is the cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative centre of the country. It is renowned for its rich history, which is reflected in the unique architectural heritage. Its old town centre is embraced by Ljubljana Castle and the river Ljubljanica where the feeling of the city is the strongest. On your trip, you will encounter ancient and modern architecture. You will visit the old town center where you will admire the works of the Slovene architect Jože Plečnik, who took an important part in designing the Ljubljana’s most famous bridges, town squares and parks. In a little more than three decades, Jože Plečnik transformed Ljubljana from a provincial city to the capital of the Slovene nation and reshaped the urban part of the city. His influence can be felt everywhere, but mostly along the river Ljubljanica. On your trip, you will visit some of the most interesting buildings and monuments, such as the Ljubljana Town Hall, the Triple Bridge, the Shoemakers’ Bridge, Ljubljana Cathedral, the Robba Fountain, Prešeren Square, Congress Square and other attractions. The symbol of the city is the Ljubljana Dragon. It is depicted on the top of the tower of Ljubljana Castle and on the Ljubljanica - crossing Dragon Bridge. It symbolizes power, courage and greatness.

This is a very smooth tour with time to walk around in your own. Great food and shops! Guide was wonderful, speaking many languages to accommodate everyone!
We went by bus leaving the Lyublyana bus station. We bought the going and going tickets for just over 10 euros per person. The lake is very beautiful, even in winter. Worth the walk. The round then was more complicated. The return ticket had no fixed time. We arrived 15 minutes earlier at the bus stop but the bus was already full. It was a holiday and they had fewer hours available. The next bus arrived after half an hour. There was no queue. It was a push push and we got pra again out. The other bus was an hour later and we only got in because we arranged a queue. Who is arriving we warned to get in the queue. In the end despite this perrengue was worth the walk.
Dean is a great guide and very informative. He was clearly passionate about Slovenia and it's history. Lake Bled is as beautiful as the pics and was very atmospheric during our visit due to the early morning mist. Do try the delicious traditional custard cake, kremsnita with a strong cup of Slovenian coffee, absolutely yummie! Lubljana is a pretty, chilled capital city featuring picturesque bridges and Lubljana Castle. We tried the local dish, Jota and had plenty of time to walk around taking in the vibes. We hope to return to this beautiful country in the future to visit Piran and other coastal areas. This excursion is highly recommended. Thank you Dean for making our first visit to Slovenia special ♥️
Great tour and Barbara was delightful. She was so upbeat and a wealth of knowledge. Beautiful weather!
The actual tour itself was great but the organisation building up to the day of the tour was awful. There is nowhere near enough space here to describe my experience but let's just say it wasn't good.
Our Tour guide Dean was very knowledgeable and made our trip a pleasure we would highly recommend him. Maybe Viator could give the option to do two separate excursions so as to give more time in each destination to fully appreciate both places.
Excellent tour with Ernie as our guide. He was very informative. We stayed just the right amount of time at Lake Bled and also Ljubljana. Would definitely do a tour with them again in the future. Grazie.
Great guide Dan. Very helpful to fulfill all different needs in several languages. I would HIGHLY recommend this excursion
Ernest picked us up on time and regaled us with the histories of Trieste and Slovenia along the way. At Bled, he gave us some history and let us explore on our own. Mentioned a good place to get their famous cake which was wonderful. On to Ljubljana, where he took us around a bit, then let us do what we wanted. It's much nicer than following a person with a flag leading many people. We only had 5, so it was easy. It's a pretty town, and the Christmas Market was in full swing. The trip does take a full day, but it's worth it.
Our guide and driver was Dean. Safe driver, full of information about the history of Slovenia. Beautiful drive to Lake Bled. Plenty of time to hike around for great pictures and to enjoy coffee and the famous cream cake. Ljubljana is a beautiful city. Hiked up to the castle and sat by the riverside enjoying wine and local treats. Dean was very friendly and made the tour very enjoyable. Well worth it.
