Start your journey at the breathtaking Lagoa do Fogo, one of the Azores most beautiful volcanic lakes, surrounded by untouched nature and panoramic mountain views. Continue toward Sete Cidades, famous for its twin lakes inside a massive volcanic crater, where you will stop at spectacular viewpoints such as Vista do Rei. Along the way, visit a traditional ceramic factory and also explore a pineapple plantation, where you can discover the unique greenhouse cultivation method used on the island and taste local pineapple products. Learn the process of the pineapple of São Miguel, grown inside greenhouses using local techniques perfected through time for decades now.
Going up the west coast crater, from this viewpoint you can see both shores of the island including 42 small volcanic craters responsible for creating the part of the island where they stand.
Have a glimpse at Canário lake, in a protected landscape area in which a lot of the island's hiking trails are.
From this viewpoint you can see the famous twin lakes inside this massive crater in the west coast of the island, as well as the small village of Sete Cidades. Simply breathtaking.
From this viewpoint, as we started driving inside of the actual crater, you get to see the same lakes and village but from a totally different perspective.
Explore the small village center as well as the only church with a tower on its center in the island, São Nicolau church.
In this viewpoint we are as western as we can go in the island. Used as a whale watching spot initially, it faces the ocean and, from here, you can also see the village of Mosteiros, where people go to see the sunset.
Witness the process of producing our traditional pottery, in a factory that is run by the same family for five generations now (closed on weekends and holidays).
In this area you can the one of the active volcanos in the island. This lake sits very close to the top of the second highest point of the island and it's... Exquisite.
If you decide to, you can visit this Natural Park where people can explore the area and witness secondary vulcanic activity.
Visit the center of the only city in the north coast of São Miguel and explore it a bit. You can also visit a small shop where you can have samples of our local liquors (closed on weekends and holidays).
Visit the beach that is the surf center of the island, with its dark sand and surf schools for children, as well as a bar a bathrooms.

Flavio was outstanding! He is very professional, knowledgeable, smart, and fun to be with! we loved our two days with him… He customized everything for us according to our interests and the weather… He even took us in the evening to see the sunset on the west coast, and them to Ferreira to swim in the tidal pool during low tide at 10PM! was truly a special experience.
