Our specially designed kunanyi/Mt Wellington Ultimate Experience will provide you with the best possible experience on the Mountain. On a clear day the views are stunning. In winter perhaps you will be playing in the snow. On this fully escorted tour we pass through various eco systems and experience an alpine environment. Join our exclusive escorted tour of the Observatory, the exhibition Gardens and the enjoy the opportunity to take in the views from the Western Wilderness viewing deck to see one of the last true wilderness areas on the planet. On the descent from the mountain, we have brief stop outside the Cascade Gardens and view the remains of the Female Convict prison - The Female Factory.

Witness amazing views of Hobart and surrounds from the summit. On our descent from the mountain enjoy a short easy walk around the amazing Exhibition Gardens at the midway point "The Springs" There's also time to purchase a hot drink.
View the exterior of Australia’s most significant historical sites for women, the Female Factory was the female equivalent of Port Arthur and was used to hold both women and children throughout the 1820’s. It was a terrible place with only the most basic of facilities. Some ruins of the original building and walls still exist. Your driver guide will provide a brief history of this fascinating place.
Join our escorted short tour of the Observatory on the summit of Mt Wellington and a self guided tour to the Western Wilderness Lookout to view one of the last true wilderness areas on the planet!
Visit one of Hobart City's classic gardens The Cascade Gardens which lies against the Hobart Rivulet near the historic Cascade Brewery.

Pickup Locations & Times
Hotel pick-ups commence approximately 40 minutes before listed start time/tour departure time. If you selected a hotel pick-up, you will receive a separate email from the tour operator. Please check your emails for the confirmed hotel pick-up time. You will receive the email within 24hrs of booking. For bookings made after closing time for the following day, you will receive your email confirming pick up details the following morning, at least 2 hrs prior to departure. Please be waiting at your hotel pick-up location 5 mins prior to your confirmed pick-up time. Not all pick-up locations are directly at the hotel. The exact pick-up location will be provided in the email sent from the tour operator. If a hotel has not been selected, your pick-up will be confirmed as Brooke St Pier, 12 Franklin Wharf, Hobart (central departure point) at 9.00am.

Was cloudy but we were up above it - like being on a plane. Some decent views from below the cloud. Was a bit confused as we thought that the tour included the female factory but entry was not included. So we paid to go in - that was worthwhile too.

Unfortunately it was quite foggy the morning we booked but it was still really neat. Quite cold up on top so dress warmly. I would still go despite the weather.

You’re absolutely right about the temperature — it can get very chilly at the summit, so warm layers are definitely the way to go. Despite the fog, we’re glad you enjoyed the visit, and we couldn’t agree more that Mt Wellington is worth experiencing no matter what the conditions bring.
The bus driver - Evan - was very attentive & informative. He was very conscientious to ensure all passengers were on the bus before we left Mt Wellingron as the weather had turned nasty, to the extent he got off the bus & got soaked looking for the last passenger to discover he was on the bus all the time, but did not respond when his name was called out.....

No matter what the ticket says they do not pick you up at the hotel. The tour operator does not use WhatsApp to communicate. You must have access to ypur email to get updates. Communication is very limited with this tour operator, not what im used from a viator operator.

We do offer hotel pickups, either directly outside the hotel or within a short walking distance. Some hotels unfortunately aren’t accessible for tour vehicles, which is why a brief walk may be required. We always aim to make this as convenient as possible. Regarding communication, we outline the process in the initial booking confirmation, which notes that we will contact you within 24 hours to confirm your exact pickup time and location. After that, we send a detailed email with the confirmed pickup information. The night before the tour, we send the same details again via email, along with an SMS to the contact number provided. At this stage we don’t use WhatsApp, so email and SMS are our primary communication channels. We understand how important clear communication is, and your comments help us continue improving.
