Excellent workshop! We were picked up by an English speaking local woman, Danis. She brought us to an old family business where we made our own silver rings. Good guidance, but we were able to do most of the work ourselves, what I was hoping for. Very friendly people, we felt welcome. I really enjoyed it ánd we both made the ring we wanted. Danis stayed with us and made pictures/film and accompanied us to the pasar later. We got water and fresh emping (crackers) even though it was Ramadan. I bought a beautiful necklace and earrings but did not feel pressured to buy anything.
Thank you for your kind feedback🥰We're delighted to know you had a wonderful experience with us🙏
Really amazing!!! Honestly this is the best thing we did in Yogyakarta. An incredible experience with skilled creators using traditional methods. We absolutely loved it & left the the most beautiful rings. Incredibly good value too. Danis is a brilliant host with impeccable English. She adds to the experience with delicious snacks & local tips! Book this now!
Thank You!! We truly appreciate your kind feedback. It’s a pleasure to know that you had a wonderful experience with us 🙏
10/10 would recommend! The area is super cute to walk around - lots of little alleys. It’s a really hands on experience. I made a ring and having something you made yourself is super special.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that you had a positive experience. It means a lot for us!
A fabulous experience. Making a silver ring, starting from raw silver was an experience in itself, enhanced by the kindness and hospitality of both the hosting craftsman and family, and Upik from the organising entity Lawang Pethuk. Lawang Pethuk I found out is a social enterprise set up to preserve traditional crafts and livelihoods. Well worth supporting. I got the meeting point wrong but Upik found me and gave me a ride on her scooter to the correct place. The craftsman and family were very patient and kind and were happy to share their skills with us. Bottled water and traditional snacks were provided. After the activity Upik very kindly took us to a nearly mosque and related many stories of the history of the area. Very much appreciated. I very much recommend this activity. I now have something to wear on my finger to remind me of a very pleasant experience in Jogja.
Thank you for having us! Nice to have you here, we appreciate it!
