Itsukushima Shrine is one of Japan's most famous tourist attractions, beautifully floating above the sea. It is dedicated to the goddess of the sea and has long been worshipped by many people. Enjoy visiting this beautiful shrine.
After visiting Itsukushima Shrine, take the ropeway to the sacred mountain behind the shrine. From the gondola of the ropeway, take in the stunning view of the mountains and the sea.
Once you get off the ropeway, you will head to the top of the sacred mountain. The summit of the mountain is the most sacred place on the island. Numerous halls line the mountain, and you can feel the faith of the religious people. There is an observatory at the top of the mountain, from which the view is breathtaking.
From the summit, take the ropeway down again.
Once off the mountain, head for the hall on the grounds of Itsukushima Shrine, which is known for being very spacious. A pleasant breeze blows through the building.
