A licensed Hiroshima local guide will take you to two World Heritage Sites in Hiroshima as a private tour. On the island of Miyajima, you’ll visit Itsukushima Shrine and Daishoin Temple, both considered as sacred places. After that please enjoy the vegan ramen. After exploring Miyajima, you’ll head to Peace Park and the guide will give you a peace tour using Virtual Reality (VR) device. At the end of the tour, you can visit Peace Memorial Musuem. Itinerary
Meet in front of Information Center at JR Hiroshima Station. Meet your guide and then travel by JR from Hiroshima Station to Miyajima-guchi Station.
Ferry ride from Miyajima-guchito Miyajima.
You will visit Itsukushima Shrine, and have a general worship session.
We will visit Daishoin Temple with a history spanning more than twelve centuries, founded by Kukai, a towering figure in early Japanese Buddhism. A knowledgeable guide will explain the diverse beliefs and Shinto/Buddhist syncretism that remain on Miyajima.
Enjoy vegan curry for lunch at Hexagon Cafe near Daishoin Temple.
There will be free time for shopping/snacking on Miyajima.
World Heritage Route boat ride from Miyajima to Peace Park. “World Heritage Sea Route” boat ride will take you to Peace Park from Miyajima smoothly! You can also enjoy the view of Hiroshima from the river during the trip. *The World Heritage route from Miyajima to Peace Park may be cancelled due to typhoons or other weather/sea conditions. In such cases, travel will be by JR or ferry.
PEACE PARK TOUR VR *Visit Atomic-Bomb Dome You’ll witness the path from Hiroshima’s devastation to its recovery using a VR (Virtual Reality) device.
Visit Peace Memorial Museum. Peace Memorial Museum admission ticket and audio guide rental fee are also included. You’ll receive a gift of paper crane pottery made from Miyajima’s beach sand and the ashes of origami cranes which were burned at a ritual at the temple.
