Thank you so much Satoko! It was a truly wonderful experience sharing a delicious meal with you and your family! Visiting your garden, talking about the local fauna, and enjoying your generous company in your stunning countryside is worth the whole trip to Hiroshima. I am grateful. Merci!
This was easily one of our favorite activities in Japan. Satoko welcomed us into her family home in the countryside. It’s an easy one route train from Hiroshima station. It takes about an hour, but the view is honestly amazing and nothing you would get in cities. The village is surrounded by mountains so the view there is stunning. We got to pick some seasonal vegetables and cook some dishes. Satoko completed the rest with homecooked recipes. Everything was delicious. I haven’t eaten most of the dishes anywhere else. Satoko was kind enough to share some recipes. We got to meet and talk with her two children. It was fun to teach them some words in French, English and Spanish and for us to learn some Japanese. They were so sweet and were very interested in learning more about us. The whole experience honestly felt like being welcomed by relatives and as if it lasted more than 4 hours. Will cherish this experience! Love from Canada xx
Very friendly and welcoming with a lovely home and gardens. Helpful and accommodating with dietary restrictions and preferences. We had a really nice time.
Thank you for visiting our home. We really spent good time with you. and I hope that you will try making tofu hamburg steak at home. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me anytime!
This garden to table experience is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity that I’ll never forget! Satoko and her children are the most lovely people and are such a wonderful family! During this experience they showed us how to dig up bamboo shoots, which we were then taught how to cook. After we were given a tour of their gardens and were shown all the amazing fruits they grow. Finally we were brought inside where they prepared a wonderfully delicious meal for me and my family to enjoy. This whole experience was showered with warm conversation and a deep look into Japanese country side life. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys Japanese food and a friendly conversation!

Being so warmly welcomed into a family home in Japan is a privilege and a wonderful experience. We learnt a lot about real family life and cooking on a small farm in a peaceful rural community.
Thank you for visiting our home. We are part of a younger generation that simply enjoys an old-fashioned, traditional way of living. In fact, I think people who live like we do are becoming quite uncommon. That is why it made us truly happy that you visited our home, experienced this rare style of daily life, and spent time with our family. We also very much enjoyed the time we shared with your wonderful grandfather and the young man. Thank you so much.
We had a very great time with Satoko and her family ! We felt at home and discovered a lot of homemade specialities from her garden. Food was really flavorful and we truely appreciated visiting the garden. We would do it again, thank you for this wonderful experience!
Thank you for visiting our home. We enjoyed the time we spent with you guys. It was also a very meaningful time to be able to exchange cultural information about rural life and agriculture. I am very happy that you enjoyed all the Japanese dishes, including the preserved foods we made, saying "Sa Se Bon." We look forward to seeing you again with other dishes prepared!! My kids really miss you.
