Would reccomend, had a lovely culturally emmersive tour with Swan. I especially loved meeting the locals in their homes, seeing and learning the history of their families and livelyhoods. We experienced authenticity, places and foods we would have never tried if we hadnt have gone on the tour.
The experience my wife and I had during this tour was incredible, Swan is highly knowledgeable, intelligent and funny. What I enjoyed the most about this tour was the ability to experience a side of Hoi A that wouldn’t have been possible without this tour, truly a positive experience.
Swan was the most amazing tour guide who took so much care in showing us the real Hoi An. We got the see everything from factories making ingredients to the final dish coming together. Her English is perfect and tailored the session to what we love.
We had the most incredible time with Swan. Her enthusiasm for the city is amazing and we saw things we never would have otherwise. What an amazing day!
I recently went on a solo trip to Hoi An and was so glad I did this walking food tour. It was worth waking up early to learn about the people and their lives. It was such an eye opening experience to see how hard the folks work and how fresh all the food is. I was the only person signed up, so it ended up being a private tour which was awesome. We started with a much needed cup of strong Vietnamese coffee at a local home - something I've seen from the streets, but would never have the knowledge to go in and order. We tasted freshly sprouted bean sprouts, saw the production of fresh Cao Lau noodles, walked the local market and sampled fresh fruit, food stalls, banh Mi sandwiches, soup noodles, dessert and more coffee. It was truly a large sampling of different local foods. I loved sitting in the market and eating with the locals. It was all made possible by my wonderful guide, Ms. Kim. She was the ultimate Gem - she knew all the people, knew how to tell stories, knew how to navigate. I cannot say enough how safe and special it felt to walk around with someone who was so familiar with the city and the people. At one point, we walked into a home where the host wasn't there and picked a few banana wrapped desserts to eat because she knew. I would highly recommend this tour if you have time. Plan it early in your trip...it's a great way to see the real lives of locals. It was well worth the early morning wake up call and if you can, please ask for Ms. Kim. She had the cutest proper British accent from spending some time abroad. Most importantly, you can feel how much she enjoy sharing her city with guests from afar.
My trip guide Swan picked me up from my hotel, and we walked around in local areas of Hoi An. I enjoyed to see how local people live here, and Swan told me local stories too.
A background of traditional ancient ways of producing the dishes of Hoi An and seeing everyday living and housing. Great tour by the informative Kim 🙂
Excellent tour with guides Quynh and Tau! I was the only guest. They were both bright, funny, knowledgeable, and excited to show me Hoi An. The food was delicious, including classics like banh xeo and banh mi, but also some lesser-known dishes like banh dap and local specialty cao lau. Quynh kept us moving at an efficient pace to all of our stops. Would recommend to anyone coming to Hoi An.
Had a great experience on my tour. My Guide Swan was super informative and passionate about the tour. I got lots of behind the scenes insights and had some great food at places ai would have never been able to find myself. My favorite was seeing how they make Cao Lau from scratch and to taste the noodles afterwards.
We absolutely loved our tour. Xuan was the most lovely guide and very informative. We were able to experience and learn about local foods and culture. We highly recommend booking this tour to try foods and meet local people. Xuan was amazing and provided us with a fun afternoon! :)
