On the decent from “Vikafjell” mountain to Vik, the bus will stop at the viewpoint “Storesvingen”. The viewpoint offers magnificent views of Vik Village and Sognefjord.
The village of Vik has a Rich Cultural Heritage. The main attraction in Vik is the Stave Church “Hopperstad Stavkirke.” The Church is, together with Urnes, the oldest stave church in existence dating back to 1130.
Enjoy a wonderful fjord cruise to the glacier village of Fjaerland. Along the fjord we'll pass tiny villages, waterfalls and steep mountains. Fjærland is located where the glacier meets the fjord. A fjord cruise on the Fjaerlandsfjord will give you the memory of a lifetime! This is a 2 hours cruice on board MV Fjord Lady that will take you from Vik to Fjaerland.
The beautiful village Fjærland: Right at the end of Fjærlandsfjorden we reach the charming village Fjærland. The village is perfect to explore by foot and until 1986 it was only possible to arrive to the village by boat. You can choose to explore the village on your own or join the guided tour to the glacier and the Norwegian Glacier Museum. We have two hours at our disposal in Fjærland.
On arrival Fjærland, tour go to the Norwegian Glacier Museum. The Norwegian Glacier Museum is an interactive museum for the Whole Family. The Museum gives knowledge about glaciers and climate in New innovative ways.
From the Norwegian Glacier Museum the tour continues by bus up to Bøyabreen glacier – a branch of Jostedalsbreen glacier. Here it is time to take some photos and see how the glacier presses itself into the landscape.
The bus returns to Fjærland quay, and the tour goes back to Vik. From Vik the tour continues to the Tvindefossen waterfall. The waterfall is 110 meter high and is very popular tourist attraction. The Tvindefossen waterfall also has many myths, among others that the waterfall is a source of eternal youth! The waterfall lies just along the road.

A fantastic long day. Driving through magnificent scenery over a high pass, down thru cute town of Vik, onto a ferry and then another ferry up Fjaerland fjord to see the museum, a brief cinema, and then onto a short walk at the base of the incredible glaciers. Other highlights were waterfalls and up close to see the Stave Church! A jampacked day with our terrific tour leader, Bjarte. Thanks heaps Bjarte we loved our day!!
Extraordinary landscapes, the glacier museum was so great (film included), the tour guide was really good
Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are really glad you enjoyed the tour.
This tour was an experience I will never forget, the glacier tour was so pretty and very fun, and the waterfalls were amazing! Although, I must say the van was a bit cramped..
I wanted to see a glacier but I mostly wanted to go inside this Stave Church. Our tour was altered and we did not get to go in. Very disappointed! No prior notice.. 4 hours in a van and 4 hours packed onto a slow boat. Not a great experience. Disappointing!!
Incredible tour. The fjords were amazing, even on an overcast and rainy day. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. One of the highlights of our trip - definitely worth the money!
This was a really great tour with some absolutely stunning scenery. The glacier is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It was awe-inspiring. I expected lots of other boats and loads of people but we were virtually the only boat for most of the time and the boat was small and speedy- even taking us close to the bottom of a waterfall. My wife and I sat on deck on our own for most of the time, enjoying the magical, stunning views. We even saw porpoise. (Wear warm clothes - even in August it was cold!) The church and waterfall were also really impressive. All the people involved (the coach driver, guide, boat captain and boat crew/guide) were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and I learned a lot about Norwegian culture and history. It was a long day but so worthwhile and good value for money. One of the best tours I have been on. And the glacier and scenery... breath taking and magical. I am so glad I experienced it.
Your itineary suggested stave church, a view point before stave church, none we were taken to. When we arrived at glacier museum, we were told there is no bus on account of accident and we can not go to the glacier. Albeit there were other buses for other groups that went up glacier. I will not go with this tour company again.
The Full Day Fjord and Glacier Tour was an incredible experience, my most favorite excursion done on my 6 day trip to Norway. The landscapes were stunning — dramatic fjords, waterfalls, and a beautiful glacier. Our guide, Bjarte, was exceptional: knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate, sharing knowledge and info at every stop that provided additional context to the rich history and culture of Norway. Tour operators can learn a lot from Bjarte. He made the excursion memorable with a lot of personal touches to ensure the group enjoyed the day out. You left the tour feeling as if you made a new friend. The tour was very well-organized, with smooth transport and plenty of time to enjoy each location without feeling rushed. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a seamless, scenic, and informative way to explore some of Norway’s most spectacular natural wonders.
We very much enjoyed our full-day fjord and glacier tour with our fantastic guide and driver, Bjarte. His funny anecdotes provided great entertainment on the long drive, and it was heart-warming to see how emotional he became at the beauty of his homeland -- especially the gorgeous lake mirror effect! It was a long day, but it was worth it to get up close and personal with the dramatic, picturesque landscape of Western Norway. Highly recommended!
Driver/ guide was excellent. Scenery from Bergen over mountains to Vik was spectacular as we're views during boat ride on fjord to Faerland. Not enough time at Glacier museum for both movie and lunch. Movie was excellent. Glacuer itself was disappointing due to ravages of clinate change. That's not tge fauktbifvtge your, but more commentary about that from the loxal guide would be a useful addition to the toyr
