Scenic picture stop at Whirlpool Aerocar. The Whirlpool Aero car was designed by a Spanish engineer, Leonardo Torres Quevedo and has been in operation since 1916. The cable car is suspended from six sturdy cables and offers a wonderful view of the Niagara Whirlpool which is formed at the end of the rapids where the gorge turns abruptly counterclockwise and the river escapes through the narrowest channel in the gorge. High above the racing Niagara River, you'll be transported through the air in an antique cable car. Far below, the torrent of water abruptly changes direction and creates one of the world’s most mesmerizing natural phenomenon – the Niagara Whirlpool. Sometimes frightening and always unforgettable!

The Sir Adam Beck I Generating Station (GS) has provided clean, renewable electricity to Ontario for nearly 100 years. When it was opened by Sir Adam Beck on Dec. 28, 1921, the Queenston-Chippawa Development (as it was known between 1922 and 1950) was the largest hydroelectric power station in the world. At the peak of construction more than 10,000 people worked on the project.

Journey Behind the Falls is a year-round attraction that offers an unique view of the Falls from below and behind. Visitors descend 150 ft. by elevator, where a short tunnel (150 ft.) gives access to two outdoor observation decks and two portals located directly behind the Falls. At Journey Behind the Falls, you`ll experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashing down to the basin below. During summer daylight hours, over 2,800 cubic meters of water thunders over the brink every second, travelling 65 kilometers per hour! Your Journey Behind the Falls visit will take 30 to 45 minutes and in the spring and summer months, you`ll receive a free souvenir biodegradable rain poncho as protection from the mist of the Falls. Elevators descend 150 feet through bedrock to tunnels that lead and to the Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal which is one third of the way behind the massive sheet of water. Then you walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls. Posters of information are a great resource of information about the history and evolution of the hallways you walk through. Good guide but too many unnecessary stops at minor attractions

Very good guide Anthony and the falls are wonderful. However this trip was two hours too long for us with stops on the route home that just prolonged the day unnecessarily. We would have preferred to come straight back to Toronto.

Great activity

Great all day experience. Get the lunch. Was traveling with 3 teenagers and they had a blast. The town and extra stops are good too.

Niagara by bike! For real.

The experience was terrible; we booked a tour that included a visit to the falls, lunch "with a view of the falls," additional visits including Living Water Wayside Chapel, and a strategic stop at the power plant. The tour started late, and from there we delayed looking for the rest of the tour passengers. The first thing they told us was that the tour would take 10 to 12 hours when the site says it is 9 hours. Then, when we finally arrived at our destination, close to noon (when the distance is 1:30), they took another 40 minutes to get the tickets for the boat ride, and after we did the ride, they did not take us to any other place because they left with another group that had made reservations for other attractions. When they took us to the famous lunch (2:30 PM), the hotel had already closed the lunch hour. After a while, they let us serve ourselves from what was left over from lunch, and they made us sit in an area that faced away from the view of the falls. And after all that... they did not take us to any other place. They left us waiting again for 2 hours at the meeting point to continue what we thought was the tour, only to find out that we were going back to Toronto. In conclusion, we spent 12 hours in a car, to do a 20-minute tour on a boat, eat what was left over from a lunch (without the right to sodas or soft drinks), and that was it. I do not recommend it at all; the operator was Zoom Tours, and the only redeeming quality was that the guide was a kind gentleman.

Average, potential for better

This tour has the potential to be great. First, I want to recognize our tour guide, Anthony. He was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and organized throughout the trip. Give him a raise! A few suggestions regarding the tour experience: 1. Lunch at the Sheraton – I was not very impressed with the lunch. The food was average, and there were limited options available. The seating arrangement was also uncomfortable, as guests were required to sit very closely with strangers. Additionally, some of the Sheraton staff came across as rude, which detracted from the experience. 2. Bus Restroom Issues – The restroom on the bus was not functioning properly, as the toilet would not flush. By the end of the tour, there was a noticeable urine odor throughout that area of the bus. 3. Delayed Pickup Time – My scheduled pickup time was 8:15 AM, but the bus did not arrive until around 9:00 AM. This delay caused the tour to run later than expected and impacted the overall schedule for the day. With a few improvements in these areas, I believe this tour could easily earn 4 out of 5 stars. At the moment, however, I would rate it as average.

Opt for semi private or small group instead

Due to miscommunications and lack of clarity, I would not recommend a large group tour. 1) 8 hours before departure, we were told to meet at a different location than the one we requested 2) We opted for the included lunch. After we finished the boat tour, we only had 20 minutes to eat before the buffet closed down. About ten of us were eating as the restaurant was closing down around us. 3) 4 people were delayed because they opted for an add on excursion. That meant all of us were delayed 1.5 hours leaving Niagara Falls. Without explanation, our tour guide opted to cancel the Niagara on the Lake portion of the trip.

Operator response

Hi, We apologize for the inconvenience to you on the tour. Due to FIFA some roads are closed in the city and we asked to meet at pickup point to make it easy for every one. The day you went on the Tour was one of busy day at the Falls and it was delay in Boat and Journey. We wanted to make sure everyone gets back to Toronto, we dont want to leave anyone alone, it was little delay but we got back all of you safely and we provided luxury coach bus transportation for the tour. Hope you understand and we will make sure that this will not happen again. Don

Recommend for families

Tour guide was excellent and transport vehicle was very comfortable. Just read the trip description carefully because the boat at the falls doesn’t operate year round (nothing the tour company can do about that, but important to set expectations with your kids!). I really liked how much time we had at each stop and the opportunity to zip line (for an extra fee). Having lunch at a buffet included was also a plus because it made lunch very quick!

Work travel

Took some time while in Toronto for work to go on this tour. So worth it. Johnny was very pleasant and let me wear his coat to stay warm.
