Let’s just say that this experience “blew” us away on so many levels!! Just the off-roading adventure with Sutherland to get to the airboat was memorable and very informative. Once on board the airboat, Mike, the owner, had a gift for creating a one-of-a-kind experience with great consideration and intentionality. He tailored the trip through the eyes and perspective of someone visiting Alaska for the first time. Despite the fact that he resides in God’s country and this is his daily backdrop, he took time to stop, pull over, and educate us on local wildlife and plants. You could tell he was passionate about the work he did and it wasn’t simply a way to profit from tourists. The family of harbor seals he put us up on was the highlight, and he patiently allowed us to watch, appreciate and photograph them. The icing on the cake was the 360 degree professional go-pro video he captured and gifted us with following the experience!!! This raises the bar and you should no longer be hovering over the “book it” button. DO IT!
The airboat ride was quite an experience-starting with the ride down to the water-think switchback. The ride is loud but smooth. We saw some eagles and harbor seals.
Fabulous experience on the Fox River.
First time on an airboat and this was an incredible experience! Sutherland picked us up and drove us to the airboat. He was very interesting to listen to his life adventures. We arrived near a Russian Orthodox village where Mike was waiting for us. Mike was fantastic, informative and made sure we would have a safe and memorable experience. We saw harbor seals, eagle nest, moose, and birds that flew along side the boat. It was a breath taking view of outback. If you are looking for an unique adventure with spectacular scenery and outstanding service, we highly recommend this airboat tour.
Loved the air boat ride and the guides were great. They should warn you that there is not really any opportunity to use the restroom from pickup till return. For us that was almost 6 hours. Not much wildlife to see other than the seals but still fun.
It’s a unique experience. Only 2 hr ride. Takes an hour just to get there. No opportunity for bathroom break so be prepared!
This was a very unique adventure and one that will be remembered forever, The remote location away from any crowds made it even more special, we were literally the only ones in this beautiful wilderness. Our guide Michael was very knowable, fun and friendly. He is a real pro Airboat pilot. And riding in an airboat is a real thrill! And as an added bonus Michael took some awesome video clips of the trip which were available for download. Great trip that i can recommend to anyone who wants to see a part of Alaska that is away from the roads and crowds! Well done!
An incredible day spent soaring on top of the head waters of Katchemak Bay in this super fun for all ages Airboat excursion! We saw beautiful scenery, harbor seals, moose and bear tracks all while the wind whipped through our hair and the occasional grain of sand hit our smiling faces! A job well done to the driver Sutherland who safely delivered us to and from the airboat and many kudos to the captain of this thrill ride for delivering the fun and interesting facts about this rarely experienced Alaskan area! A MUST DO when in Homer!

An adventure that’s both exciting and educational! Perfect for the whole family — young, old, or disabled — this family-owned business makes it possible to explore hidden and untouched areas of Alaska like never before. From the very first phone call, the experience was top-notch. After speaking with Jen — someone I now call a friend — she created a private, perfectly tailored itinerary for my family. She listened closely to our needs and even arranged a special riverside lunch complete with tables, chairs, sandwiches, chips, and drinks. It was more than a meal — it was a chance to connect. We enjoyed a relaxed, social moment getting to know Duncan and Sutherland on a more personal level. Both are incredibly intelligent and full of personality, adding even more depth and charm to the day. Jen knew exactly what I was looking for and delivered well beyond my expectations. Our journey began with Sutherland picking us up and driving us to the legendary “end of the road.” Along the way, he shared fascinating insights about the region and the people living in the nearby Russian Village. The drive itself was stunning — blooming native flowers, a surprise pheasant sighting, and breathtaking views of the bay and glaciers. At the trail’s end, we met Michael (one of the owners), who greeted us in his amphibious 6-wheeled “toy.” That muddy, bumpy ride through the backcountry was an adventure in itself and set the tone for the excitement ahead. Then came the airboat ride, where Duncan, our skilled and knowledgeable guide, gave us a thorough safety briefing before launching into the wilderness. As we traveled up the bay toward the Fox River, we encountered playful seals and their pups. They peeked at us curiously, only to dive underwater if we looked back — a comical and endearing sight we won’t forget. Once we reached the Fox River, the scenery became even more breathtaking. Surrounded by untouched Alaskan beauty, we felt completely immersed in nature. Duncan and Sutherland’s deep knowledge of the land and its people made the experience truly come alive. This wasn’t just a tour — it was an unforgettable journey into the wild heart of Alaska, thoughtfully curated by people who genuinely love what they do.
