Our walking culinary journey begins in the iconic heart of Athens, Monastiraki. Surrounded by ancient ruins, vibrant shops, and street vendors, this lively square sets the perfect tone for a day of food and culture.
Stroll down Athinas Street, a bustling artery that links Monastiraki to the Central Market. Lined with traditional shops, spice stores, and hidden gems, this street offers a glimpse into the everyday food culture of the city.
Step into the city's main food market, where locals shop for the freshest meats, seafood, produce, and specialty ingredients. A sensory feast, the market is the beating heart of Athens’ culinary scene. Note: The market is closed in the evening.
Wander through the charming Psirri neighborhood, a vibrant mix of artisan shops, tavernas, and grocers. This area is known for its authentic flavors, creative energy, and rich culinary traditions.
Discover the city’s most beloved delicatessens and specialty food shops along Evripidou Street. Known for its exotic spices, cured meats, and local delicacies, this street is a paradise for food lovers. Note: Some deli shops or venues may be closed in the evening.
We wrap up our walking tour next to the historic Aiolou Street, named after Aeolus, the ancient Greek god of the winds. With views of the Roman Agora and the Acropolis in the distance, this area brims with eateries, cafes, and Athenian charm—perfect for a memorable finale.

Zifi was amazing and the tour was fantastic! Very well organized, lots of information and absolutely delicious food! Highly recommend the tour!
Great food and wonderful tour guide. Visted several wonderful restaurants and there was always plenty of food to share Highly recommend!
Not much historical knowledge. Guide was so nice but food was eh better to curate your own restaurants. Was very expensive in my view.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our tour is primarily designed as a food experience rather than a historical tour, although we do try to include some local history and cultural context along the way. The restaurants and tastings are carefully curated by us and are places we genuinely consider local favorites, so we are disappointed to hear that the food did not appeal to you. We have not often received this type of feedback regarding the food quality, but we appreciate your comments and will certainly take them into consideration as we continue to review and improve the experience we offer.
Lots of fun, excellent guide! Tried a good variety of food as well as learned about the city. Highly recommend!
A great way to try many authentic food throughout Athens with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide.
Friendly, good exchange with people. Good food and light walking. Guide was very friendly and funny.
This tour was excellent. Our guide was the best…fun to be with and knowledgeable about the local cuisine. The food was plentiful and delicious. We highly recommend this tour.
Our guide, Orestes, was fabulous. As a food scientist, he was knowledgeable not only in cooking and tasting but also why things were the way they were. As someone born and raised in Athens, he really knew the area, many of the people we encountered and had stories from his youth. Foods we tried included spanakopita, charcuterie meats and cheeses, greek salad. various cooked meats, honey and olive oil and loukoumades. This tour is especially recommended if this is your first visit to Athens.
Great experience !!!! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun! Thank you for a great tour !!!!! We appreciate the information and all the great food
Local Greek food family run businesses. Nothing fancy. Guide was local and competent. It was a different area than we would have explored ourselves.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad you appreciated our local guide's expertise and enjoyed exploring a unique neighborhood you wouldn't have discovered on your own. We understand you might have been looking for something a bit more staged or upscale. However, our tour is specifically designed to showcase authentic, everyday family-run spots rather than polished dining environments.
