Gagauz Cuisine and Culture Tour

Description
Roughly translating to "sky people," the Gagauz are a unique blend of ethnically Turkic and Christian Orthodox, that live in the south of Moldova. During this tour you will discover the traces of Turkish influence in their food, the hints of Balkan style in the way they dress and of course, their language, that is actually the remaining, distinguishing ingredient.

I loved this tour so much !!! In the South of Moldova there is a autonomous region that belongs to the Turkish minority, a population that was displaced here some 200 years ago, who still speak an older form of Turkish, preserve good bits of their culture, but are orthodox not muslim. I loved learning about their mixed culture, their history, the FOOD and wine were AMAZING and we could buy various wines and dried herbs, and the house we visited is reconstructed in such a way to experience different parts of their culture - type of rooms they had, wine cellar with water well, traditional architecture etc. Moldova is such a tiny country but sooo diverse and interesting!
