Great trip with Vlad and Natalia. The best trip I've been to. They are very patient and show so much enthusiasm even though they do it 3-4 a week. The people in Tiraspool are lovely and hospitable. I'm Asian and they treated me with respect a man even came up to me and encourage other Asians like me to come. The Babushkas were generous and lovely. I would recommend this tour it was lovely and thank you Vlad, Natalia and the driver.
My guide, Diana, was fantastic. She picked me up at my hotel in Chisinau at 8:00 a.m., and we didn't return until 6:00 p.m., making for a full day exploring Pridnestrovie. As an American passport holder, I especially appreciated having Diana—who is fluent in Russian—navigate the immigration process at the Pridnestrovian border and help bridge any language barriers along the way. We spent most of the day in Tiraspol, where we exchanged U.S. dollars for Pridnestrovian rubles, climbed aboard a Russian tank, explored the local market, visited an Orthodox church, strolled through the city center, and took photos with the city's many Lenin statues. We also enjoyed lunch at a USSR-themed restaurant, where visitors can try on a Soviet WWII-era military uniform and enjoy a meal for less than $5 USD. The day concluded in Bender, where we visited a traditional Soviet-style canteen, toured Bender Fortress, stopped at a Sheriff supermarket, and browsed an antique shop filled with Soviet relics and Pridnestrovian souvenirs. It was a wonderful experience, and Diana's knowledge, historical insights, and fun facts made the tour even more memorable.
My partner and I had a fantastic day. Our guide Diana was friendly, funny and knowable. It was interesting to see how life was in the region.
This was 100% the highlight of my entire trip to Europe. It is so interesting to see how Soviet culture lives on despite Moldova's EU aspirations and westernization. I especially liked our visit to the Soviet restaurant. The food was very good. Our tour guide Ruslan was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and funny.
A fantastic short activity that explains the peculiar political situation in this unrecognized breakaway part of Moldova.
Nicolai is so educated and intellectual. Whatever you want to know, you'll get. If in Chisinau, absolutely do this tour, no doubt! We had our doubts about safety given the State Department warning (which has been in place for many years), but there are no worries. Not a single review or Google search of an issue. They want tourism.
A fun opportunity to see another country. We enjoyed the food and beverages unique to the area. The places we went to were clean. The history was informative.
One of the best tours we’ve ever been on! Jenna was magnificent. She picked us up at the hotel and dropped us off at the airport. She was extremely knowledgeable, a very conscientious and safe driver, and had a spectacular way of pacing all of the activities. It was a lot to get in in eight or nine hours, but she went above and beyond to give us a fabulous tour! If you can book the private tour, you should because it was tailored precisely to our wants and needs!
Natalia was an excellent guide. She took me to a variety of places, including a supermarket, a park, and several monuments. Throughout the tour, she shared a lot of historical background and insightful information that helped me understand Transnistria much more deeply. Thanks to her, the tour became a truly memorable and meaningful experience. I am very grateful to Natalia for giving me such a wonderful time.
Really enjoyed the experience of visiting Pridnestrovia, Natalia was super informative both prior to the tour and during the tour, with excellent stops for food and souvenirs, this really is a must see experience, into this Soviet time capsule.
