It’s a valuable place to understand the cultural legacy of the merchants and the prosperous times of old Hakata.
Kushida Shrine is dedicated to the protection of Hakata and is the central location for Hakata's most famous festival, the Hakata Gion Yamakasa. The shrine grounds are home to the impressive Yamakasa floats, which are a must-see for visitors. From museums to shrines, to temples, we had her wonderful knowledge and kindness. Highly recommended for a 2.5 hour walking tour.
