Less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the region north of Stellenbosch has earned international acclaim not only for its Paarl wines but also the breathtaking beauty of its natural surroundings. The name Paarl means ‘pearl’ and reflects the way the ancient granite mountains, which early Dutch settlers called ‘den Diamont ende Peerlbergh’ (‘the diamond and pearl mountain’), glisten in the distance.
Arriving at our first vineyard for your wine experience. . . Our world-renowned tasting room consists of 4 unique, barrel-shaped 'pods' that facilitate a welcoming and more social tasting. After a splendors time at the first vineyard, we proceed with a 15 minute drive to the next vineyard for another amazing wine experience to explore some of the finest wines produced in the region. Influenced by our French heritage and international savoir-faire, we strive to make French style wines with a touch of South African vibes. We believe in natural, minimal intervention winemaking, with the firm believe that the secret to a great wine lies in the vineyard and in the beautiful landscape that surrounds it. You will be experiencing our biltong and wine pairing of five carefully selected wines, paired with premium cuts of biltong. Biltong is a cured, dry meat often enjoyed as a snack by South Africans. You can also choose a vegetarian option: A pairing of wine and chocolates If you wish to have lunch on the day (afternoon tour only) then please inform your guide at the start of the tour, this will allow your guide to make the necessary arrangements with the vineyard.
Your wine experience is not complete until we visit the town of Stellenbosch. . . The beautiful little town of Stellenbosch, lies surrounded by the Stellenbosch Mountains in the Jonkershoek River Valley in one of the most picturesque settings in the Cape. The second oldest town in South Africa has fondly been called ‘Eikestad’ or city of oaks and its streets are lined with some of the most beautiful surviving examples of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture in the Cape. You will have time to walk along Dorp Street and De Braak Street in Stellenbosch, browsing through a variety of boutique stores and to witness the enticing Dutch buildings. After enjoying all the wonders that the Cape Winelands Tour has to offer we will make our way back to Cape Town and drop you off at your hotel.

Nice itinerary for half day. Knowledgeable guide. The vehicle (van) was a bit of a rough ride.
I had one last day in Cape Town, and was trying to squeeze in a lot. This trip did just that and more. Getting even a half hour to roam around Stellenbosch was a trip highlight; but then two very different (but both excellent) winery experiences really brought it home. I'd booked really last-minute, and initially I was going to be the only person on the tour. The company reached out with options, including letting me make it a private tour. Another couple ended up booking last-minute, too, so it ended up being a trio; but kudos to the tour company for willing to probably run the trip at a loss just to make sure I got my half-day tour. Overall, this was absolutely stellar if you're looking to pack in a lot outside of Cape Town in a very constrained time frame. Highly recommend.
It was very great experience I loved the tour We had such good wines and the stop at the town was my favourite Very reliable
Great day out! A few technical problems with the driver’s microphone meant we struggled to hear some of the commentary but it didn’t detract from the day. Two very nice wineries. Generous sizes for the tasting with 6 at each winery. Would have liked a little more time in the town of Stellenbosch but I think we took too long dipping the excellent wines!
Excellent tour and good value
Both wineries were good experiences with cheese, bittong or chocolate pairings. We finished the afternoon in the town of Stellenbosch.
Mini bus ride with driver narration. To distinctively different Vineyards one with six wines and six cheese. The other smaller vineyard with three wines and a choice of chocolate or billabong.
The tour was impacted by poor communication. The day of the tour we had multiple reminders to be at a certain place at the designated time. No one showed up. It was only when I contacted tour operator that I was informed the time had been changed. When the van finally appeared we drove to the next pickup place to wait over 15 minutes for two groups to join. Neither did, they made their own way to a late arrival at the tasting room. One winery quite good, the other just okay By the time we got to Stellenbosch for an abbreviated stop it was dark and not inviting. Very late arrival back to Cape Town.
Visited Fairview first for 6 glasses of wine and cheese tasting followed by Marianne for 3 glasses of wine and either Biltong or chocolate pairing... Interesting to see the vat areas and beautiful vineyards.... Then headed into Stellenbosch for a walk around to see architecture - time to purchase souvenirs or ice cream if required... Bit of a shame that constantly followed by children begging but I guess survival is by any means! Great tour guide for a small tour - people obviously much friendlier after a few drinks ;) Pick up time was spot on and returned back to hotel
An amazing day out in Stellenbosch. Driver was on time and friendly. Vineyards visited were excellent. Well worth it. Highly recommend!
