A 4-hour guided tour of the medina in Fez is a great way to get an inner look into the culture and history of the city. An official guide for the Tourist Office will take you through the medina of Fez, one of the world’s largest walled cities.

See the Mosques including the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri, and the Andalusian Mosque dating back to 860. Entry is not permitted to non-Muslims.

A way to explore the history of Morocco is through the explanation of this museum. So Far the Museum is under renovation.
the Andalusian Mosque dating back to 860 is a crucial step in our trip for an idea about the culture and architecture. Not permitted for non-Muslims.
Fontaine Najjarine and Museum will be another stop for more info about the Medina explained by the guide. Entrance for 20 DH ( not included)
You will visit Chouara Tannery where you will discover how workers prep leather, clean it and dye it, despite the smell you will definitely enjoy.
Bab Bou Jeloud or the blue gate an important place we will stop by as well.

The shared option does not include hotel pickup; participants are required to meet the guide at the designated meeting point in front of Hotel Batha at 10:00AM. The private option includes Hotel/riad pickup, but only from hotels or riads located in Fes El Bali (the Old Medina).

10/10 recommend this experience - do it as the first thing you do in Fez. The guide Kamel was fantastic, he told so many interesting things about Fez, Morocco and life here.
Great, the guide does not have too much accent, it is easier to understand for non-English native speakers, the whole trip will take you outside the main street, to explore the whole of Afis in depth, it is worthwhile to go blindly, and recommend this trip.

We only had limited time in Fez so we decided to take a guided tour of the Old Medina. Jamal was a knowledgeable and attentive guide, we really enjoyed the tour with him. He showed us all the cool places and postcard shots without getting lost in the maze. Be aware that the Medina has almost 10k streets, a lot of them with dead ends. Having a guide gets us to all the places we want to visit without the hustle was such a good choice. Highly recommended!

This Medina is another world. Kamal was a lovely gentle guide. I felt we were getting good info. He was obviously well known throughout. We did stop at a few places and obviously encouraged to shop by those places but never pressured, except at the tannery. That felt quite pressured. This was exceptional value and we had a lovely small group of 5. Would be concerned with a massive group due to some of the crowded areas. You would spend ages waiting for people.

Mohamed is an exceptional guide! He offered us a real immersion in the medina, with great generosity and without counting his time. He knows everyone, which has allowed us to live unique moments: having tea, tasting fresh bread, visiting different artisans, discovering places rich in history – all without any pressure to buy. The experience was pleasant and rewarding. As a bonus, he even organized us the rest of our day with dinner in a typical Moroccan restaurant and called another Mohamed, a very nice taxi driver, to tour the main sites outside the medina. A full and memorable day, from 9:30 am to 6 pm, that we are not about to forget!
