Itinerary
The meeting point is at Avenida da Liberdade 9, in front of the Armani Exchange store.
The Chapel of the Apparitions is a small chapel in Fatima, marking the site where three shepherd children reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
You will stop and explore the Sanctuary of Fatima for about 1 hour. Fatima is today one of Catholicism’s major shrines and is visited by 6 million people every year. It is said that the Virgin Mary appeared to three children – Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta – every single month from May 13th, 1917 until October 13th, 1917.
This church was established in the 14th century when King Ferdinand came on a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Nazare, commemorating an ancient miracle attributed to the Virgin Mary's intercession.
Nazare is a charming fishing town with plenty of places to stop and enjoy the ocean view. The town center is bustling with seafood restaurants, making it a great spot to sample local cuisine. Situated 110 meters (360 feet) above the ocean, this cliff-top area offers breathtaking views. One notable landmark is a small chapel built in 1182 by a local nobleman, Dom Fuas Roupinho, in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for saving his life. Close by is the baroque church, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Nazare, which was constructed in the 14th century. Take some time to relax in this beautiful location and be sure to try a typical local restaurant for lunch.
Here, you will experience breathtaking views from a clifftop promontory.
To fully appreciate Praia da Nazare and the southern part of Nazare village, you will stop at the top of the Nazare cliff. This picturesque seaside view is definitely worth seeing.
You'll visit the small Hermida da Memoria chapel located on the edge of the Nazare cliff. It has been visited by many famous pilgrims, including Vasco da Gama.
Praia do Norte get some of the biggest waves in the world. It was in 2011 that this beach hit the headlines when Garrett McNamara surfed a record-breaking 24-meter wave here.
The Forte de Sao Miguel is a 16th-century fort that was converted into a lighthouse. It offers spectacular views of the ocean and houses the Nazare Canyon Interpretive Center.
Obidos is a medieval town that was captured from the Moors in 1148. Since then, it has been a walled city, featuring cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses adorned with flowers. Founded on a hilltop with views of the ocean, the bay gradually silted up, and since the 15th century, Obidos has been a landlocked town. However, Obidos is not just about its medieval architecture; it is also known for its lively festivals, bookstores, small museums, and local delicacies like chocolate and ginjinha (a cherry liqueur, one serving per person is included in the price). In recent years, Obidos has been reinventing itself as a literary center.
The meeting point is at Avenida da Liberdade 9, in front of the Armani Exchange store

Our guide, Liliana arrived early to pick us up. She introduce herself and we got underway on our journey. Liliana was extremely knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. She was extremely knowledgeable about the regions and towns that we visited. She made sure that we had plenty of time to see all attractions and had plenty of time to ask questions. We asked her to recommend a restaurant for us to have lunch in Nazaré and she didn’t disappoint. Fantastic lunch. She took the time to make sure we (and especially our two young grand daughter) could meet one of the Nazarenas (women residents of Nazaré) so they could show and explain why they traditionally wear 7 skirts). Fantastic trip. Would engage this firm again on my next return to Portugal!! Thank you Nuno and Liliana for making our vacation supper special an one that my grand daughters will never forget!!
Great tour and a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who explained to us about all the sights and which restaurants she recommend.
Katrina was a great guide. She kept the group involved with questions. Made it entertaining. Passed out personal cards at the end with answers to questions outside the tour. Restaurants, bookstores etc. great attention to detail.
Amazing experienced with a very knowledgeable guide. All places visited are highly recommended. Small group tour is the way to go
It was very informative and the guide provided lots of anecdotes that made the tour more fun. We got to see areas around Lisbon that we had not seen before.
Outstanding guide and tour!. Very personable knowledge. Her knowledge level of Portugal- history- places people was remarkable. Lillie was interactive with each of her guests. She made us feel like a family before we competed our day. This was by far the best tour of my vacation. Thank you Lillie.
The places we visited were beautiful, but what made our experience magnificent was our tour guide Lily. Her passion and knowledge made everything come to life.
This was a fantastic tour! Lili took great care of us. Very knowledgeable, and took the time to check in with everyone making you feel included on the LONG drives between stops. All in all Lili definitely is a matches energy person. So we had a blast! For solo travelers I was in a small group of 6 and got to make some be friends during the trip. But it's designed so you can do your own thing at each spot. Only down side were the waves at Nazare were not their full glory because I went in June which is the low season. (January was recommended for better. But it will be cold)
Fabulous tour. Carolina was very informative and professional. Her English and demeanor was perfect.
This tour was one of the best we had on our European vacation. Tania was our tour guide. She had a lot of stories to tell along the drive to various locations. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of the groups questions. We had plenty of time at each location to explore on our own. I would do this tour or any other tour through this company again.
