Itinerary
Cascade Mountain is likely the most iconic mountain in Banff National Park. It is a mountain in the Bow River Valley National Park, near the town of Banff.
Vermilion Lakes is make up of three stunning lakes. It reflects the majestic Mount Rundle, which rises over the town of Banff.
Castle Mountain is a mountain in the Canadian Rockies that is part of Banff National Park. It has a castle-like appearance due to erosive processes.
Located in the center of Yoho National Park, Emerald Lake's vivid emerald color is derived from tiny glacial debris particles called rock flour. This lake is unique because of its gorgeous green water. It is impossible to describe the verdant surroundings and snow-capped Rockies as a backdrop. In winter, the lake was largely frozen in ice, and the landscape was blanketed in untouched snow.
Located eight kilometers south of Emerald Lake Lodge, Natural Bridge is an impressive natural rock formation that spans the flow of the Kicking Horse River west of Field. Visiting Natural Bridge in the winter is even more incredible. When the roaring waterfall freezes, ice spikes allow you to walk onto the frozen Kicking Horse River and see the Natural Bridge from below.
(Summer only) Wapta Falls is a stunning waterfall located in Yoho National Park British Columbia. It is the largest waterfall on the Kicking Horse River standing 18 meters high and stretching 107 meters wide. This impressive size makes it one of the most remarkable sights in the Canadian Rockies. Visitors to the park often find themselves captivated by the powerful flow of water and the beautiful scenery surrounding the falls. Wapta Falls is a must-see destination for nature lovers and anyone looking to experience the beauty of the Canadian wilderness. (A hiking journey of 4 km round trip at Wapta Falls) it is even more beautiful in the winter when the ice freezes over and the surrounding peaks are covered in snow. It will change to Lake Louise or Lake Louise Ski Resort in winter.
(Winter only) a glacial lake within Banff National Park. Its vivid turquoise waters of it have earned a worldwide reputation and the Victoria Glacier is the majestic mountain backdrop. Nevertheless, many are unaware that during winter, the lake exhibits breathtaking beauty, turning into a wonderland of ice and snow.
Having lunch for 1 Hour
(Summer only)Takakkaw Falls is a must-see attraction in Yoho National Park. You can easily reach the falls with a short 10 to 15-minute walk from the car park. This makes it accessible for families and those who may not want to hike for long distances. Takakkaw Falls is a truly spectacular sight standing at an impressive height of 373 meters. This makes it one of the tallest single-drop waterfalls in Canada. The name "Takakkaw" comes from the Cree word that means "wonderful " reflecting the beauty of this natural wonder. The beauty of the falls and the surrounding scenery make this a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers alike. It will change to Marble Canyon in winter.
(Winter only) In winter, Marble Canyon is especially beautiful because of all the snow formations in the Marble Canyon. During the winter, Marble Canyon creates a magnificent landscape of snow-covered rock formations, while the deep blue river below remains unfrozen. A couple of bridges connect the canyon, allowing you to hike a few short loops. Put on your crampons, experience the icewalk, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the canyon.

Amazing! This tour was a great way to explore the very best of Yoho Park. Our tour guide, York, was very friendly, knowledgable, and wonderful to spend the day with. There was a nice mix of easier, laidback walking along trails, as well as a more moderate hike up/down to see the falls. Overall, an excellent day, and a chance to escape the crowded tourist spots! Thanks, York!
I booked this trip with pickup in Calgary and drop off in Banff where I’d be staying for the week. I felt like it was a great deal as I got a full day tour for only a little more than a shuttle from Calgary to Banff would have cost me. There were only 9 of us on the tour plus 2 guides. Takakkaw falls was beautiful as were Emerald Lake and Natural Bridge. The best part about this tour was the hike to Wapta Falls. It was nice to get off the bus for a more extended period of time. No lunch was provided on this tour so bring something with you. They also made a stop at a convenience store along the way so everyone had a change to pickup some snacks or food there. The guides were both great with answering questions and taking photos of everyone at each stop.
We had a wonderful daytrip exploring the Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge, Wapta Falls and Takakkaw Falls. The sights were astounding, but the day was made complete by the presence of an extended family on the tour who took us under their wing, and also our tour guide York who was both warm and insightful throughout the day, and could not have been more accommodating towards us all. For sure the landscape was impressive, but my overarching memories will be of the people we spent the occasion with.
Tour was cancelled by the operator the day before due to weather. Could not rebook anything to our schedule.
Trip was cancelled 40 minutes before we were due to be picked up. It was our last day in Banff after travelling from the UK and such a shame as we were really looking forward to this trip and had no time to book with a different company. A full refund was issued straight away but just wish we knew the day before so we could plan something else for that day.
It's an excellent 💯👍 tour ! Vicky was the driver & tour guide. She was so good , caring, attentive , knowledgeable about the history for all the attractions about Banff & hiking........We were so glad to be in this Tour ! Vicky even took us to a secret spot 💜🩵💙💖👍‼️
I selected this tour because it had all of the sites we wanted to see. Other tours had several of them, but no tour had this combination. Patrick made the experience memorable. He was very knowledgeable, very hospitable and had a great sense of humor. He offered to take photos at every stop and knew where the best vantage points were for photos, often not where orher tourist were drawn too... Just a difference of 10 yards sometimes made a big difference. It rained the day of our tour. Patrick made a suggestion to the group to take us to a secluded vantage point of Wapta Falls. This would avoid the slippery surface near the falls and avoided the hike there (which my girlfriend and I were very ok with having hiked the Larch trail the day before). Although the distance was far from the falls it was a terrific view. He offered to replace the hike with a visit to two additional lakes that were not on the tour. Bow Lake and Peyto Lake were amazing additions and stunningly beautiful and fid mot require hikes. They were quite a drive away, but Patrick was happy to visit these in lieu of the missed hike. The other couples seemed to have a fantastic time too. We have not done a group tour before, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I can't imagine a tour company or guide doing any better. My only suggestion is to improve the info on Viator and in emails, etc. It was very confusing to figure out the correct pickup time. One place had 9 a.m. listed, another had 7:30 and another had 8:30. I messaged the tour operator through Viator which was easy and they replied within hours (our tour was weeks away), and it tuned out there were three cities for pickup... Calgary, Canmore and Banff, hence different pickup times. That should be listed in the tour. Plus, the last pickup was us in Banff at 8:30 so I have no idea why 9 a.m. ls isted. I highly recommend this tour and using Rockies Journey. If you get Patrick that's a bonus.
I’d rate the tour 120 out of 100! The weather was amazing. Our tour guide Vicky took really good care of us. She made sure everyone was in good condition, provided walking poles before the hike, and gave us snacks and bottled water afterward. She also shared lots of information about the places we visited.
The tour was great you see a lot in Yoho National Park Patrick and Vicky were great tour guides to have
Patrick and Vicki made our tour fun. Emerald Lake was beautiful and relaxing. The Natural Bridge was so unusual. The hike to Wapta Falls was worth it. Very powerful. But the Takakkaw Falls were Spectacular!! Patrick was always there to take Pictures. We had a wonderful tour.
