From June 19 to September 7, 2026, your Banff Gondola ticket includes access to Sunset Festival — an alpine celebration featuring live music, tasty bites and chilled drinks for purchase at the summit of Sulphur Mountain.* Toast the day on the mountaintop — Sunset Festival runs nightly from 6 to 9:30 p.m. this summer. *In the event of poor weather, the fun moves indoors. Mountaintop Christmas November 21 to December 31, 2026 Santa is coming to the Banff Gondola! Celebrate in vintage style atop Sulphur Mountain with timeless holiday activities, classic movies and festive surprises.

Step into an iconic 4-person gondola cabin with expansive windows and enjoy a smooth 8-minute ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Along the way, take in spectacular views of the town of Banff, the Bow Valley, and six surrounding mountain ranges. At the summit, soak up 360-degree panoramic vistas. Explore the summit at your own pace with access to scenic walking paths, including the Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk. This self-guided interpretive walkway leads to Sanson’s Peak and the Sulphur Mountain Cosmic Ray Station, a designated National Historic Site. When it’s time to relax, stop by Castle Mountain Coffee Co. for a drink or snack, or enjoy a full dining experience with reservations at Northern Lights Alpine Kitchen or Sky Bistro, offering elevated Canadian cuisine with unmatched views. The Banff Gondola is serviced year-round by Roam Public Transit – Route 1. Ticketed shuttles run regularly with stops along Banff Avenue. Free shuttles are available May to October.

Check out weather before going up as poor disability can make it totally poor for views and pictures
It was rainy and cloudy. Mountains are zero visibility but it came clear 30 seconds. Lots of fun pictures and videos
It would have been amazing but the smoke from fires limited our view. The Sky Bistro was also enjoyable
75 minutes at each site ... 90 minutes would be more beneficial to possibly do a canoe ride at Lake Louise
Beautiful views. Fun walkways. Early morning or later in the afternoon. Was still a big line at 5pm to get on the gondola. I would highly recommend buying your tickets before coming to site. We saw them for $80, when we got there and paid over $120 each adult I choked! haha. Check prices before and at the Gondola online

Excellent staff, we were able to go up early. Highly recommend walking all way up boardwalk stairs to the top. Great views and benches all the way. Easy access up and down. Saw lots of long horn sheep, chipmunks and breathtaking views.

Check weather first.it was so foggy and smokey you couldn't see beyond 10 feet in front of you but wonderful design and movie
Unless you go on a very clear day this attraction is way overpriced. If it's hazy or cloudy you can't see much at the top. I imagine that if the weather is good, you will get your money's worth. On days of limited disability the price should be reduced. The ride to too the top is very pleasurable.
Nice gondola ride. Very very crowded with tour groups.

Very well organized. Team at site was quick and very cooperative. Had a great time at sulphur mountain and enjoyed every cent of it
