Very nice and interesting experience. Excellent service, Andrei prepared, scrupulous and very professional.
Grazie! Enjoy your visit!
Fabulous day spent with our guide/driver, Peter Zalozaik! He picked us up promptly as arranged in Rovign, Croatia at 1000 in his large, comfortable, and impeccably spotless van. There was more than enough room for the four of us and our one each 20Kg suitcases (next size up from carry-on) and back-packs. (6-8 people and bags could fit in his van.) Our destination was Ljubljana, and we had previously selected stops at Trieste and Lipica to see the Lippizaner horses. Peter suggested we might also enjoy seeing Koper, the seaport city and when we said we liked wine, he suggested a local winery. He was very flexible and anxious to make sure we saw what we wanted – but also to let us know about other places we might enjoy seeing on the way. We left shortly after 1000 and arrived in Ljubliana at 1600. In between was breathtaking, lush countryside – sea and mountains – and an informative and entertaining mix of Peter’s passion for his country, history, and stories of Slovenia. Kopor is a working seaport town. We climbed the old bell tower for a 360 panoramic view of the seaport and surrounding city and hills, then strolled around and bought bereks and almonds for a snack. We chose a shorter stop in Trieste – enough time to see the Piazza Unita D’Italia and elegant Hapsburg era grand buildings and fountain. The stop at VinaKoper winery was a blast! We tasted several delightful Slovenian wines and witnessed something none of us have ever seen – people bringing large plastic bins and filling them with wine from machines that look like clean, elegant gasoline tanks. The winery sells traditional bottles too – but the “fill ‘er up” tanks/hoses are a sight to behold!! The horses at Lipica were beautiful—lots of foals – all happily milling around behind the same long white fences you see in Kentucky horse country. Peter dropped us off as close as he could to our apartment in the old city part of Ljubljana. Before he left, he also gave us a great list of suggestions for daytrips from Ljubljana, things to avoid (Lake Bled’s weekend crowds) – Must-Do’s like the big market downtown on Saturday – restaurants he likes (and he is a foodie) – in short – ways to enhance our Slovenia experience. We highly recommend his guide/tour service—as an excellent value but more importantly – Peter gave us experiences we would not have had without his local expertise. Thank you Peter!!!
Hello Dennis B, This is the most in depth review of my service I have ever got on Trip Advisor. I cannot express enough how much this means to me. Because you kept your promise on suporting me over here, and most of all you took a good ammount of your precious time to write down all you did. And I am really aware of that. And I really appreciate it. It is also true that I really have the passion for my country and when I meet people like you it is just impossible not do as much as possible to represent Slovenia in the best possible way. That is within smaller group and not only sightseeing but also trough some tasting. Thank you again and please keep in touch because as far as I know you are coming back again and then I would like to assist you with anything that you might need. Thank you again and hope to see you againg. Warm regards from Koper Peter
