Great trip

Informative boat trip from Westminster Pier to Tower Bridge 30mins. Proper cockney commentary as you forget you are in London.

Thames Uber Boat and Greenwich without Observatory

Avoid this guided tour at all costs. First and foremost, this was not a cruise but merely an Uber Boat ride, which costs $10 per person and took up 45 minutes of the two-hour schedule. Upon arriving in Greenwich, the guide appeared to be unprepared and seemed lost. She had to ask locals for directions to the market and how to take a bus to the observatory. If your goal is to visit the Greenwich Observatory, skip this tour entirely. You can watch the time ball drop and take photos at the unofficial Meridian Line outside the observatory on your own, free of charge. The tour neither includes tickets to the observatory nor offers any science-related introductions. The Queen’s House portion of the tour was equally disappointing. Instead of providing a meaningful introduction, the guide had us sit and watch a video at the entrance and then read from its script. When asked questions about the paintings, she simply read the descriptions posted on the walls. Both the Queen’s House and the video are free to access, and the guide added no value to the experience. The only redeeming part of the tour was a few interesting stories she shared during the Uber Boat ride. Beyond that, it was a complete waste of money and nowhere near worth the hundreds of dollars spent. We requested a partial refund but were denied. Very disappointing.

A wonderful and informative day trip

A great way to see London from the river side and visit Greenwich, one of our favorite places. The views from the river are wonderful and the naration, if you do the tour boat, covers a lot of history. Be sure and tour the Cutty Sark and have lunch at one of the pubs after you get to Greenwich. Oh and visit the Royal Navy Facilities. You might also want to take a short hike to the Greenwich Meanline and take pictures straddeling it.

A wonderful way to celebrate a birthday

As the weather was good and it was my birthday, my wife and I decided to go on a riverboat trip from Westminster Pier to Greenwich and back. It was a fantastic outing, with great views of the River Thames embankments, and with superb and hilarious commentary from one of the crew aboard the boat. I would do it again every year ... weather-permitting!!

Fun on the water!

We were staying at the Viking Venus Cruise in Greenwich and did our own tour of the Ceremony of the Keys, we took the Uber/boat cruise from Greenwich to Buckingham Palace and back on the River Thames. It was a lovely cruise and we enjoyed the sunset as well as the Moon rise that night.

Summer days drifting up river best way to take time out and still see the sites.

Lovely way to spend an hour or more. We took the ferry from Westminster bridge. No need to prebook just grab a ticket at the dockside. Ferries leave every 20 minutes and take around an hour to head down to Greenwich. The first mate did a fab job of being a tour guide filing us in on the sites and river traditions. Learnt loads and it was so lovely to see the city from a different angle.

Provider does not provide.

This trip was terrible. We were booked on an Uber boat instead of a river cruise. The guide advised this was not the norm as you cannot see anything from inside well or take photos. The boat was one hour later than scheduled as it was an Uber and not a true river cruise as advertised. The guide came off with us in Greenwich but did not know that certain sites were closed. She walked about 30 feet ahead of us and without looking back was speaking to people near her ( clearly not realizing it was not us). We caught up with her heading up to the observatory at which point she lagged behind on the steep 5 min walk. Overall, this was an outrageous expenditure for no service provided. We took the Uber tax back for a cost of $40 instead of the exorbitant price charged. After contacting the provider, I was offered a walking tour in London as compensation on a future date. How that is helpful I do not know. I again requested a refund. Should I receive it I will keep you posted and revise my review.

Provider did not provide!

This was a complete scan and waste of money. We met our “guide” who was unfamiliar with the logistics. The provider booked us on an Uber boat instead of a River cruise. The Uber was one hour late and we were indoors so unable to take photos of the attractions we signed on to see. The “guide” stated this was not the norm. The provider scammed the system and purchased a family ticket so his total paid out was about $50. The “guide” did not know that sites in Greenwich would be closed by the time we got there. She walked about 30 feet ahead of us not realizing people she was talking to were not us because she didn’t look back. It was a complete ripoff.

Fantastic trip!!

We booked ahead for the trip on a cold February morning! The boat was easy to find, we came from Westminster tube and out towards big Ben, then the west minster pier is just down the steps. The cruise wasn't really busy but it did a couple of pick ups and drop off on the way to Greenwich, I'd highly recommend the trip down to Greenwich though. The trip was great and the captain was absolutely brilliant (we went Feb 6th), he was SO informative and we learnt so much about the river and London. We had our 13 and 9 year old with us and they both enjoyed it. As above I'd recommend going all the way to Greenwich, it's got a lovely market and the maritime museum was really good. We walked to the park and up to the royal Observatory, worth the trip just for the views back over the city's of London were amazing. We didn't get the boat back but came back on the DLR line instead which was nice to come back on a train through the buildings we had seen from the river coming in. We booked the cruise last minute to kill a bit of time after 4 days of being in London and it was the kids favourite part. The captain really made it for us with the commentary, super interesting.
