Chiado is an important cultural and commercial district, known for its luxury shopping, historic landmarks, and its numerous theatres and museums. In 1988, the Chiado area was severely affected by a fire.
he bland facade of the Igreja de Sao Roque hides one of the most exquisite and decorative churches of Lisbon, and possibly Portugal. Inside the white washed church and adjoined museum are some of the finest examples of Jesuit sacred art and the beautiful chapel Saint John the Baptist.
The Viewpoint of São Pedro de Alcântara invites us to sit in its wooden benches and enjoy one of the best views of Lisbon, face to face with the Castelo de São Jorge.

A really informative and gentle introduction to the city. Our guide, Thiago, was really helpful, spoke really excellent English and was highly knowledgable. I would strongly recommend this tour
We decided to visit Belem from our hotel downtown. Our guide Suzanne picked us up right on time for a two hour tour. On the way she showed us all the sights and explained them to us. The Navy museum outside room, which is free entry covered all the explorers. We went to Belem tart cafe and we got ahead of the line and a tour of the kitchens arranged by Suzanne. We returned to our Chiado hotel area but uphill of our hotel so we could view the lookout and have an easy downhill walk back. Very helpful and well organized. Thank you Suzanne we really enjoyed it. Our driver was Eddy and he is a friendly and knowledgeable guy. It was great to get the history of a city you are traveling in. He was very accommodating for stops for picture taking. He helped us pick out great areas to travel in on our own. He has a good sense of humor and is a safe driver. All the great qualities you want in a person.

A terrific (and easy!) way to see lively and lovely Lisbon. Lisbon is built on 7 hills with a labyrinth of streets and alley ways. Touring by tuk tuk spares your knees while you take in the history and culture. We were lucky to have Javier as our driver/guide, who relocated a year ago to Portugal from Mexico. His enthusiasm for the city is matched by his knowledge. Highly recommend!
The trip was fascinating in that we saw all aspects of the city from famous views to winding, hilly, back street neighborhoods. Our tour guide Celina Borges, was very informative, personable and fun. It was amazing to see her navigate the traffic while still explaining the sites. Special about the Tuk Tuk experience is the feeling of being embedded in the city life!
Selina was an excellent tour guide. She is a wealth of knowledge and shared so much history with us. The weather wasn’t the best , but she made it enjoyable.
Our driver Pedro customized our tour based on our preferences. He spoke great English and loves Lisbon. He took us to remote district centers away from the crowds. A great first day overview. Now we love Lisbon!
