This is an amazing tour, so worth the money. We went with Etson who is very knowledgeable as a guid but most importantly very good at dealing with people. The drive is long but so worthy, and Etson was a very skilled driver. Then in the afternoon we did a hike. For this, prepare with good hiking shoes as it can be slippery. Overall, the sights, people, accommodation, FOOD, everything was absolutely perfect. Not one negative thing to say.
The two days tour to Calandula Falls is very well conceived by Luzaya and really gorgeous. It was led by Etson, a very kind, competent, and well-informed guide. On the first day we had lunch at the nice town of N' Dalatando visiting the beautiful Botanical Garden (unfortunately badly kept by the local authorities). Arrived at majestatic Calandula Falls, the second largest in Africa, we visited two impressive View Points near the Pousada (placed in optimal position just in front of the waterfall). On the second day we took a look at the big rock formation of Pedras Negras, and we have made a small boat tour at Kwanza river. As an extra offered by Etson, we visited Massangano, which was the capital of Portuguese Angola during the Dutch occupation of Luanda, dominated by a XVI century fort and a big church. It was really a fantastic tour very well guided!
The overnight tour to Calendula Falls in Malange was truly extraordinary. From the moment we left Luanda, the entire experience felt like a moving glimpse into the heartbeat of Angola. We drove through several cities and towns, witnessing life shift from the fast-paced rhythm of the capital to the slower, peaceful cadence of rural villages a contrast that made the journey as meaningful as the destination. The botanical gardens were lush and calming, but nothing compares to that first breathtaking moment when Calendula Falls comes into view. It’s pure natural beauty on an almost spiritual level — powerful, untouched, and unforgettable. The guided hike from the falls to the hotel took about an hour across challenging terrain, and with good boots and expert guidance, it became one of those adventures that makes you feel vibrantly alive. The hotel and food provided the perfect warmth and comfort afterward, a soft landing after an exhilarating day. One of the absolute highlights was lunch along the Kwanza River, where we enjoyed fresh fish prepared right on the spot. Eating that meal surrounded by nature felt authentic, peaceful, and deeply connected to Angola’s culinary and cultural roots. The next morning’s hike to the Black Rocks added even more magic dramatic landscapes, unique formations, and a sense of quiet power that made the experience feel almost otherworldly. Yes, the drive is long about seven hours each way but the scenic stops and thoughtful pacing made it smooth, enjoyable, and part of the adventure itself. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Angola. It’s beautifully curated, deeply enriching, and something I can’t wait to experience again
Great experience, beautiful scenery, prettier in real than in photo. Etson is a great guide, professional and adorable.
Etson was a great tour guide who speaks very good english and knows a lot about Angola. I had a very nice trip with him and can recommend him.
During our trip to Angola, we have had Luzaya’s help to organize the visit to Pedras Negras, Kalandula and Mirador de la Luna. Our guide, Etson, has taught us the country with joy and professionalism. Recommended!
I had a great tour with Luzaya in Angola. My first day I did a city tour of Luanda where my guide was Danny. It was a great and informative tour. I then did a two-day trip to Calandula Falls with my guide Etson who was also fantastic. The falls are a long trip but it’s so spectacular and worth it. This company also provided very reasonable prices compared to others I saw. All meals were included too. Highly recommend!
What a fantastic amazing trip by Etson of Luzaya Tours from Luanda to Calandula Falls and back, he was informative, funny and very good! Wonderful trip!

This was one of the most memorable trips I ever had. This all inclusive trip involves long drives and totally worth it. The falls were beautiful, there was no one else that day at the falls and the hotel we stayed it. It felt like connecting to the nature through the Falls and nature. My room was directly overlooking the falls, one of the best view hotel room I ever had. Our guide Ateson was great, drove well, gave us enough information and made sure we are comfortable, took pics where we wanted. I am vegetarian and he arranged that without any issues. Our car had water, snacks, and soft drinks, which was very nice. Rarely do you see a tour company providing you anything other than water. I did Luanda city tour also with the same company and I was very happy with that too. If you are planning a trip to the Calandulla falls, look no further, book this tour. Thank you Ateson for a great trip.

Thank you once again for sharing your experience with us.
Etson was a fantastic guide who amazingly took care of every detail during our trip. The hours spent on the road enabled my partner and I to discuss a lot with Etson and learn about Angola (the region, the culture and the country in general). The only thing I can say is that it's worth it, the Botanical Garden, the Pedras Negras de Pungo Andongo (Black Rocks), the accommodation and Kalandula Falls took our breath away. We will never forget our first time in Angola. Thank you so much.
