The drive is a long day on the bus. 3 1/2 hours each way but for the day to Belgium it’s ok. Mike the English guide in Bruges was good. All in all we enjoyed the day and bought lots of chocolate!
A long bus ride but we'll worth the time. The city is an excellent experience! Chocolates are wonderful, buildings and churches are great architectural sites, and the beer rounds off the experience.
Mike, our guide, was informative and interesting. He explained much about the history of Brugge and the surrounding area. Unfortunately we got to experience the highest recorded temperature in the history of Brugge. This made walking more difficult and much slower.
The tour started on time. The tour guide was the worst part of the tour. She was more like an elementary school teacher telling us how to behave on the bus. When we got close to our stop in Bruges there was no explanation or info about the history of the city, just some house keeping rules, walking in the old town the info was very limited and we had free time 90% of our time. I recommend people take the train to Bruges and then do a local walking tour.
Even though this was supposedly an “English” language tour, there were only 15 English speakers on the 58-passenger bus. The rest were Spanish speakers. HOWEVER, our guide, AnnaMaria, did a fabulous job of going between the 2 languages!! When we arrived in Brugge, the 15 English speakers were assigned to an English speaking guide, Massimo, who did a wonderful job guiding us through the important sites of this beautiful city. The only thing the description didn’t tell you was that Brugge is 3 1/2 hours from Amsterdam….making it a very long day — 7 hours in the coach. But the trip is very worth it to see this UNESCO protected city. As Massimo said, “the further we walked, the more back in time we went!” Truly an experience not to be missed!!
It was fantastic to walk through the streets of Bruges getting to know the most emblematic places with our guide Silvia. Very attentive to all of us, willing to help and a great connoisseur of the place. Without a doubt, a great experience. Highly recommendable.
We enjoyed the day trip, however it was not perfect. Enrique was a good guide and driver, but spoke too softly sometimes. The trip entailed a 3 hour ride between Amsterdam and Bruges in each direction. The seating in the vehicle was not great, with 6 seats in the "rear" that were facing...leg room was minimal (3 seats facing 3 seats) and the actual seat room was not generous. Overall it was good to see Bruges, but the transportation was sub-par. Also, having two languages was a bit awkward, but Enrique did a good job of fairly sharing information in both Spanish and English.
We had a wonderful time in Brugge. Pascal, our tour guide in Brugge, was dramatic while telling the history of the area making it informative and fun. His recommendations were great. Highly recommend this tour.
Great experience! Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable.
Long bus ride. Should have included more sights to see. Bus should have provided least a bottle of water!
