We’ll begin our journey at the Piazza Unità d’Italia, one of Europe’s largest sea-facing squares, surrounded by magnificent neoclassical palaces. Wander the narrow streets to the ancient Roman Theatre, a testament to the city’s ancient past. We’ll walk up the hill of San Giusto (elevator available) and visit the Cathedral, the historical heart of the town. We’ll descend via the area where the former Jewish ghetto once stood. Continue through to the Borgo Teresiano district, with its imperial Grand Canal. Perfect for anyone looking to experience the eclectic charm of this coastal city. Start your visit in the square that defines Trieste
One of the liveliest squares of Trieste with bars, restaurants, shops, as well as architectural gems.
We will see a well-preserved Roman arch from the 1st century AC, standing contrasting with the modern urban landscape
Situated on the hill in the heart of the historic centre, it reveals the hidden medieval and ancient aspects of Trieste. To reach it, we need to walk up the hill or take an elevator.
We'll explore Trieste's wartime past through the poignant memorial commemorating the fallen soldiers of World War I.

Jerome is a great tour guide with a passion for Trieste and history! He is a great English speaker (an Aussie, if I remember correctly!) and provided great insight to our stops and was able to work around a funeral procession that blocked some of the tour route (with all respect obviously). We made our way all over the town and felt like we understood the city culture and history much better after our first trip there!
Our guide, Jerome was excellent; very helpful and knowledgeable. He gave us a history of Trieste and showed us the old and new town.
We were lucky and pleased to discover Trieste with Eugenia... an already beautiful city has become even more interesting thanks to our guide Eugenia who, with her professionalism and enthusiasm, guided us through the city telling us its story and describing with passion the streets, churches and the most beautiful views. Perfect guided tour to discover Trieste: Eugenia took me to all the emblematic places of the city (museums, churches, historical monuments...), but also to the most secret places, less known to tourists and appreciated by the triestins. She explains the history of the city, as well as its culture, its gastronomy... It is very easy to ask her questions and she gives many recommendations and tips to spend a few days in the city. I highly recommend this guided tour!
