Itinerary

Comércio Square: This Square was the centerpiece of the reconstruction that took place after the earthquake of 1755 which has reduced Lisbon to rubble. In a privilege location, facing the river, this is the most popular square in Lisbon and one of the largest in Europe.

15 min

Ribeira da Naus is one of the most interesting places in Lisbon. Recently renovated, this old boatyard is today a surprising river beach, with a large grassy area and broad steps extending down into the river. Even though it is forbidden to bathe, this area linking Cais das Colunas, in Praça do Comércio, to Cais do Sodré is inviting for sunbathing and resting one’s feet after a hard day of pounding the streets.

Pass by

Dock area: Located below The 25th of April Bridge along the river in Alcântara, Baixa and Belém is one of the city's most popular places to relax.

Pass by

25th of April Bridge: One of Lisbon’s most notable ex-libris! This steel suspension bridge across the Tagus River is often compared with the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

5 min

A unique and inovated Museum Just in Front of the Tgaus River with a very nice view of Lisbon.

Admission not included5 min

Jerónimos Monastery: A World Heritage monument, this is one of the most prominent examples of the Portuguese Late Gothic Manueline style of architecture in Lisbon.

Admission not included3 min

Belém Tower: Built on the northern bank of the Tagus between 1514 and 1520, the Tower of Belém is one of the architectural jewels of the reign of the King Manuel I.

Admission not included15 min

Belém Neighbourwood: This is the monumental historic district of the Age of Discovery, here you’ll find the magnificent World Heritage monuments, wonderful parks, gardens and the Tagus River as landscape. For centuries Portugal was one of the largest nations in the world and this area will always be remembered and exalted as the sea port of the Age of Discovery. This tour will highlight some of the most emblematic monuments and places, such as the Oriente Foundation, the Jerónimos Monastery, the Champalimaud Foundation, the Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, the Electricity Museum and the MAAT.

Belem Trip

We had an enjoyable ride to Belem. Tony, the tour guide shared lots of valuable information on the area and history. Bikes were old. We have been on many bikes and e bikes tours, and these ones need updated. Well broken in and comfortable, but mine was showing a full battery and then went dead! We had to wait 10-15 minutes to bring a new bike. Other than that, pleasant ride with beautiful sites!

Brilliant fun and totally worth the punt.

Never used an e-bike before but it was easy to get to grips with and the route isn't hard to negotiate. Our guide Tony was brilliant, keeping us safe and informed. Really knowledgeable and personable. The ride itself took us away from the roads for almost all of the time along either cycle paths or walkways and the tour we did (along the river) had no hills so no problems there... but, hey!, it's an e-bike so it will go uphill no problem anyway. Tony even bought us all Pastel de Nata (and explained the difference between that and Pastéis de Belém) which was a welcome bonus. The bikes are quite big and heavy so maybe have a chat first if you are unsure. All in all 100% recommended. I shall be returning to do the other tours next year!

Check out this tour!

For those new to e-bikes, they are easy to adapt to. The path was mostly flat anyway, and the worst obstacle is navigating all the pedestrians. I learned a lot along the way, but it's a bit of a misnomer to say we went to Belem. You stop significantly short of Belem (though you can see it from that vantage point). I don't know if it was our group in particular, our guide (whose name I have sadly forgotten), or what, but we were sort of constantly told that we didn't have long to stop here or there or that we were running out of time. Is that why we didn't get to Belem? Should the tour be longer to be less rushed? Our guide was consistently biking way ahead of us (so maybe it was our group?). It would be helpful if the guide's e-bike had a flag or something to make it easier to follow (and I was always 2nd or 3rd in our order, so it's not like I was way in the back). I would still recommend this, though, because it's fun and I went back to the area to see Belem and the monastery more closely. The water and pasteis de nata were a lovely bonus.

Great way to experience Lisbon and Portuguese history!

The office staff were very helpful, helping us manage our booking and our family member’s bookings to get us on the same tour, including being very easy to communicate in English. Peter, our guide was amazing as well. Very passionate about our tour and very caring for our family members who needed a little care! Thank you for a great experience for all!

A MUST do while in Lisbon!

What a fun way to explore the city! Alessandra was a fantastic guide. The pacing and breaks were perfectly timed and we got to see SO much of the city and important landmarks. Ale also took plenty of photos for us and knew a ton about the history of the city. My only regret is that I didn’t take the tour sooner on my trip!! 10/10
