Moraine Lake is one of the most famous and photographed lakes in the world, located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is celebrated for its intense turquoise-blue colour, created by glacial “rock flour” particles suspended in the water. The lake reaches peak colour from late June to late August, when glacial melt is strongest. Highlights and features: - The Rockpile Viewpoint — the iconic postcard vantage point overlooking the lake and Ten Peaks. - Canoeing — rental canoes allow visitors to paddle across some of the clearest, bluest water in the Rockies. - Hiking — trails such as the Lakeshore Trail and Larch Valley–Sentinel Pass begin here. - Wildlife — the surrounding area is habitat for bears, marmots, pikas, and many alpine birds. - Access restrictions — It opens between June to October every year. Visitors must use shuttles or tours.

Lake Louise was crowded, but Lake Moraine in the evening is a gem-Beautiful and uncrowded. Hike to the top of the Rock pile for amazing pics! Our driver was Mike. He was a fantastic guide.

The tour was a fun experience. We had already been there for 2 days exploring. Mike the guide, had a good amount of knowledge and was very accommodating. We saw elk, sheep, and even had a close up experience with columbian ground squirrels. He had personal videos of animals we didn't come across, which was nice to see. Would book again.

We booked the Lake Louise and Moraine Lake tour with pickup from Banff and it was the highlight of our Rockies trip. Traveling with young kids, we were a little worried about logistics, but this tour made everything completely effortless. The pickup was smooth and right on time from downtown Banff. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area, sharing great stories and history along the way while making sure everyone was comfortable. The vehicle was clean, spacious, and air-conditioned, which made the drive between stops relaxing. Skipping the parking and shuttle headaches at Moraine Lake alone made this worth every penny. Both lakes were absolutely breathtaking, and having a guide who knew the best viewpoints and photo spots made the experience so much better. We had plenty of time at each location to take it all in without ever feeling rushed. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Banff, especially families.
