Aveiro and Costa Nova Half Day Tour from Porto with Boat Ride

Description
This tour takes you to Aveiro considered by many as the "Venice of Portugal" which is famous for its large network of canals running through the city. In this Tour you will also take a cruise on a "moliceiro" boat (a traditional boat from this city) which will take you along the channels as you admire the city’s unique tile facades. You will also have the opportunity to see the colorful houses in Costa Nova. Aveiro has a rich and varied gastronomy, and the “soft eggs” - a very sweet desert are also one the main representations of Aveiro.

Itinerary
Your expert guide will collect you from the meeting point and will drive you to Aveiro and Costa Nova. On your way to Aveiro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage.
The capital of the Ria, a vast lagoon where the freshwater of the River Vouga joins with the sea, Aveiro is intersected by canals, genuine streets of water, along which can be seen gliding the brightly coloured boats known as barcos moliceiros. Originally founded in the time of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, Aveiro is now one of the most interesting cities on the Portuguese coast. Discover the history of this beautiful city and tasty the traditional pastry, "Ovos Moles".
Cruise Aveiro's dazzling canals on a classic Moliceiro (traditional boat) Relax and enjoy the landscape on this traditional boat, that once was used to collect seagrass in the lagoon.
The last stop is Costa Nova do Prado beach, famous only by the name Costa Nova. The most picturesque aspect of Costa Nova is its coast road along which a line of wooden huts is painted in brightly coloured stripes alternating with white. Built by fishermen as shelters and equipment stores, the huts have now been converted into rather characteristic holiday homes.

It was an amazing experience. We got to know a lot of Aveiro. The price for the tour was super affordable. We took a half day tour and enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was overall enjoyable, and even better if your with friends. The staff was amazing and took great care of our small group crowd. Would 100% recommend to first newcomers to experience the wonderful city.
An excellent trip. Itinerary good and gave a great opportunity to see the area beyond Porto. Aldrin is a very informative and entertaining guide. Thanks also to Nuno for a safe drive and an enjoyable afternoon.
Good experience in this trip Thanks
Very good trip relaxing and enjoyable
What a wonderful 1/2 day Tour the Aveiro and Casa Nova! Our driver Nuno and guide Aldrin were both true professionals. They made the trip fun and had so much knowledge about the town. The boat ride was lovely and Casa Nova was so beautiful and picturesque. Book it and have a great time!!
Adrian and Nounou were great.
We had such a good trip with Pedro Costa and Maykel as our guides! We were part of a medium sized group but it never felt crowded and Pedro made us feel so welcome. The streets in Costa Nova were so beautiful, I wish we had more time to explore as it was so rich with historic culture! We had ample free time in Aveiro after our boat trip to explore the streets, the local dessert was a surprising treat, very good that I had to have two! Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to go on a small excursion out of the city!
If you have an extra half day in Porto this is an excellent option for a day tour. We were picked up in front of Porto Cathedral and we drove about 45 mins to Aveiro. First we visited Costa Nova and had a 20min stop to take some pictures with the striped houses. Then another 15 min ride to Aveiro itself where we had a boat tour. After that was short free time of 30mins to walk around and admire the Art Noveau architecture. Our guide Pedro Costa and our driver Maykel were a good tandem, witty and informative.
Pedro Costa was a very entertaining guide. He was efficient and fun. Aveiro is a lovely town. A perfect half day tour to add to our time in Porto. Pedro and our driver, Maykel were fantastic.
Awesome trip. Pedro Costa is a great guide and thanks to Maykel for safe driving.
