Itinerary

Pass by

Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup right from your hotel or apartment. If your accommodation is in a pedestrian only area, no worries, we’ll arrange a nearby, easy to find meeting point. As we drive toward the main attractions, we’ll pass by several of Athens most significant highlights. Along the way, your driver guide or tour leader will bring these sights to life with fascinating stories.

Pass by

As we continue, your driver will take you along the stunning Athenian Riviera, where the city meets the sea. You’ll enjoy the view of beautiful coastal districts such as Alimos, the lively seaside town of Glyfada, and the elegant Vouliagmeni, known for its crystal waters.

20 min

At the beautiful Lake Vouliagmeni, travelers will discover a hidden natural wonder just outside Athens. This unique lake is fed by both the sea and underground thermal springs, creating crystal clear waters that remain warm year round. Surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs and lush greenery, it’s a peaceful spot away from the city. During the stop, guests can enjoy the stunning scenery, take photos of the emerald waters, or simply relax in the calm atmosphere while the guide will explain everything to them. It’s the perfect introduction to the coastal beauty of the Athenian Riviera before continuing the journey to Cape Sounion.

75 min

At Cape Sounion Beach, travelers can relax by the waters of the Aegean Sea, right beneath the cliffs that host the Temple of Poseidon. This peaceful beach offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a coffee, taste fresh local food and the catch of the day at a seaside taverna, or even take a refreshing swim with the temple in view. The setting combines natural beauty with a sense of history, making it a truly memorable stop along the Athenian Riviera.

Admission not included75 min

At the majestic Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion, travelers will step back into Ancient Greece while enjoying one of the most stunning coastal views in the country. Perched high on the cliffs above the Aegean Sea, this 5th-century BC temple is dedicated to the god of the sea and is one of Athens most iconic landmarks after the Acropolis. With your guide, you’ll learn the history of the temple and the nearby areas, along with the myths of King Aegeus and the hero Theseus. In addition, for those who participate in the sunset tour, visitors witness the sun as it dips below the horizon and the moon rising beside the Temple of Poseidon.

Pass by

On the way back, guests who chose the sunset tour will enjoy the beautiful view of Athens as it lights up at night, a magical way to end your evening.

Sightseeing with a storytelling twist!

What a brilliant trip out. Exciting enough that we were going to see the coast and, of course, the Temple of Poseidon. You can take any trip to achieve this. What MADE this trip was our host, Theo/Teddy (dependent on what part of the globe you’re visiting from!) 😂 Theo is welcoming, friendly, engaging and clearly knows his history and ologies! The story telling starts as soon as you get on board and it was a joy from start to finish. If you’re going to go on any trip from Athens, make it this one. You won’t be disappointed!

Our guide, Theo, was so friendly and knowledgeable. He made the trip a great experience and very informative. It was long with most of the time spent in the bus, which is why he did a great job.

Valuable and Fun Tour!

Excellent tour. Tassos is very knowledgeable about Sounion and we learned a lot. I had been to Sounion a couple of times but learned new, unique things about it with a guide.

We had an incredible...

We had an incredible experience on our trip to the Temple of Poseidon in Greece. We were in a comfortable van with a small group of about eight people, which made the tour feel very personal and relaxed. Our tour guide, Theo, was truly what made this tour special. We took several tours during our trip, including multiple excursions from our cruise, and Theo was the best guide we had. He was knowledgeable, friendly, easy to listen to, and did a great job making the history and the experience come alive. One of the highlights of the entire trip was the lunch we had in a small seaside village before visiting the Temple of Poseidon. We ate fresh sea bream at a little restaurant right by the water, and they showed us the fish that had been pulled from the ocean that morning. The owner was even there swimming, which added to the charm and authenticity of the place. The food, the setting, and the atmosphere were incredible. We were on an eight-night cruise and also spent time in Barcelona, and this seaside lunch may have been the best meal we had during the entire trip. The Temple of Poseidon was beautiful, especially with the coastal views, but Theo and that amazing local lunch made the whole experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to have Theo as your guide.
