Maria was basically our private archeological historian. We enjoyed every step and every nugget of Greek history she shared. We truly appreciated Maria’s Greek pride and wisdom. Cheese pies from the oldest bakery and a Greek coffee were unexpected treats! Dinner recommendation of Psaras Tavern was perfect! Thank you, Maria.
Good day, Maria will be absolutely delighted to hear your kind words. It sounds like she truly brought Greece’s history to life for you, with her passion, knowledge, and that unmistakable Greek pride shining through at every step. We're so glad you enjoyed not only the historical highlights, but also the local flavours. Sounds like a deliciously unforgettable day! If you snapped any photos, we would love to see them! We hope to welcome you back on another Travel Curious adventure!
The Plaka district of Athens is a really cool, busy place. There are tons of restaurants & bars plus lots of shopping opportunities. Everybody’s friendly! It’s also a great place to do people watching. The Changing of the Guard at the Parliament building is very interesting to watch. It’s done every hour, on the hour, 24 hours a day, rain or shine. The guards a very colorful in their uniforms, especially if you visit on a Sunday or holiday.
