Kick off your walking food tour in Monastiraki, one of Athens’ oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods, hosting landmarks like Hadrian’s Library, an 18th-century mosque, and the ancient Iridanos River, still flowing beneath the square. You’ll also enjoy some of the best views of the Acropolis, among many other hidden gems. Try one of the most beloved Greek food, Souvlaki or Gyros as we visit some of the oldest eateries of Athens. The tour starts and ends near Monastiraki, making it easy to combine tasting local flavors with sightseeing.
This is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods where we will mingle with the locals and discover some unique spots. Psirri area hosts one of the oldest squares in Athens (Plateia Iroon), where you will find many local tavernas with live music, eateries, bars and cafes. The neighborhood is also famous for some of the city’s best artisan shops and street art murals. Here, we will try different varieties of the Greek traditional puff pastry pie.
Stroll through one of Athens’ most iconic central neighborhoods, where you'll interact with locals, discover a blend of ancient and modern landmarks, and explore popular hangouts. The food was so good and lots of it. Learned alot about the culture along the way. Would definitely recommend this tour!
We loved this! We were fortunate to have Kat as our guide( the lady pictured in the ad). She was very knowledgeable and friendly. We sampled Souvlaki, traditional cold cuts/cheese with Greek wine and fire water. We also had multiple pastries as well as a very nice sit down restaurant where we had multiple choices of Greek dishes. We ended with a stop at a Greek Bakery for Baklava. Kat gave us a great history of Greek food and its origins and showed us local areas not usually frequented by tourists. We could not have been happier with the tour. It was phenomenal.
Yummy food - 5pm was a good time as was not too hot and the locations weren't too busy as the Greeks eat later! Our group was small - only 8 in total which was lovely and Lots of yummy food to try at different locations - we were very full! thanks to Dimitrius for a lovely time.

BOOK now and request ZEFIE As your tour guide … you will not regret ZEFIE was able to pull our group of 6 into a group… I mean didn’t even acknowledge each other as we were obviously on the same tour … at the end we were all chatting like we had been friends forever … and this is how it happened… ZEFIE was a great facilitator full of knowledge about Greece history, food and culture. She didn’t dominate the conversation but rather encouraged discussion. She made us feel that we were part of the experience by asking us what we would prefer ie beef or lamb She picked awesome stops and the food was ready by the time we walked there.. at one restaurant who is known for making good fresh she took our “order” and shared that prepared everything fresh Book ZEFIE!!!!!!
