After exploring this idyllic walk through lush forest glades and the creekside valley, we enjoy a superb gourmet lunch, with choices of steak, barramundi fish, chicken, kangaroo and vegetarian. And then finishing the afternoon with a unique Daintree River boat cruise searching for the fascinating estuarine crocodiles and other wildlife of this World Heritage ecosystem. Itinerary
To begin the morning, we drive through lush and mountainous coastal landscapes from Port Douglas, learning about the history and culture of the region, as we journey toward the ancient Daintree Rainforest.
For our spectacular and idyllic wild walk, we hike through ancient rainforest glades and the creekside valley to a gorgeous, secluded waterfall in the Daintree Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, where we can swim in this pristine untouched rock pool. The walk is a slightly challenging 1 hour each way, requiring reasonable fitness and good balance. We go at an easy pace, sharing many fascinating details about the pristine rainforest ecosystem along the trail... We then relax and indulge in a refreshing swim in this magical natural Rockpool where we can swim right beneath the falls !
We enjoy a superb gourmet lunch at a hidden rainforest restaurant, with choices of steak, fish, kangaroo, chicken or vegetarian, and other dietary needs catered for. Cooked fresh for you by a chef from the best restaurant in the area. Enjoy a bonus tropical fruit tasting experience with your main meal, learning about the history and culinary uses for these colourful and exotic delights !
For the afternoon, we embark on a solar powered Daintree River Crocodile and Wildlife spotting cruise. Get the chance to see the world's largest crocodilian up close, and bring your camera for the wonderfull bird life on the estuary.

We can pick you up from your accommodation anywhere in Port Douglas or Mossman (Silky Oaks), or meet you at the Daintree River. Guests driving from Cairns - please meet us at Port Douglas IGA Supermarket ~ type "IGA PICKUP". We will ask you to sign a Waiver of Liability on the day. Had a wonderful day with Allister and Daintree Experience. We started off on a crocodile cruise and saw many crocs from small hatchlings to a large older alpha male. Lunch was a delightful visit featuring local rainforest fruits. The guided hike to a beautiful waterfall in the Daintree was special. We essentially had the trail to ourselves and had as much time as we wanted to swim in the pool below the waterfall. Allister is incredibly nice and lended a lot of stories about the area as only a local could. I appreciated his stories and I really gained a deeper understanding of the local social, political and environmental factors in the region.

Allister provided a unique opportunity to see parts of the Daintree off limits to the general public - notably the beautiful Cassowary Falls. The Croc cruise with multiple crocodile sightings and the delicious lunch topped off a great day.

We have had a wonderful day! First we went on a Daintree river cruise with Bruce Belcher & Sons, enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Daintree Tea House (where we were entertained by the owner who told us stories about all tropical fruits served at the restaurant). Finally, we were taken on a waterfall walk through the Daintree rainforest and swam in the lagoon. Best of all our guide, Alistair, who entertained us with his lovely stories and explained things as we walked along. This tour is highly recommended and not to be missed!

An amazing experience and a fantastic day for anyone interested in Australia's unique nature and UNESCO World Heritage-listed ecosystems. The hike to a secluded waterfall, which only Allister offers, is absolutely breathtaking. Along the way, you learn so much about the rainforest through a truly immersive experience. Before or after the am hike, you'll enjoy a wonderful Daintree River cruise, where you can spot crocodiles up close in their natural habitat. The day also includes a lovely lunch, during which you get to taste and learn about local tropical fruits. This is an outstanding tour. Facilitated by a relatable authentic local guide. Alistair is a rock star. He has a great sense of humor, was very knowledgeable of the surroundings, including history and nature, and has insider access to many of the local gem.
