Carlos was amazing! He was so polite, professional, on time, nice, very informative and kept us entertained throughout. He also gave us useful tips and took us to some good photo spots and was also kind enough to take us to the supermarket on the way back. Definitely 10 stars! Highly recommend
Hi dear Janani, It was a pleasure to meet you and to show you our beautiful Algarve. Thank you so much and hope to see you soon!
Andre setup the whole vacation for me in Lisbon. He has been amazing in communications and keeping up with every detail and is very accommodative. Will work with him again.
Andre (NomadInspiration) is the must-have, consummate Portugal guide for all things history, culture, and the sights! Our private day tour of the magnificent Algarve coast in his beautiful Mercedes van began early with a seamless pickup from a hard-to-reach AirBnB in the Alfama. Andre had kept up with all our communication from the US and travels in the north of Portugal and had set us up with his wonderful plan for our Algarve visit. Interesting facts about this amazing country peppered each visit, his graciousness and charm with our older kids (25 and 20), and his fabulous planning made for the most perfect day! We drove through Silves where we were introduced to the Moroccan chimneys, orange and pomegranate groves and passed white storks and their multistory nests. We headed down to Corvoiera. Here, Andre had planned a boat tour with Corvoiera Caves- Antonio and Alex on our boat were wonderful- that took us safely and in the most fun way all the way to the Benagil Cave, among other resplendent cave visits. Once we returned, replete and blown away by the views, we continued on to Pria da Donana and Ponta da Piedade. Andre tirelessly guided us, accompanying us on the long boardwalk, showing us the best sights and regaling us with historical facts. He was a patient photographer too. Our final stop was Lagos. The visit to the 1444 Slave Market was sobering but necessary. Our day ended back in Lisbon when he dropped us off at Galeto. On his recommendation, we had a lovely dinner there. Thanks so much, Andre! You were professional but we also feel like we’ve made a friend. We had an amazing day with you!
Perfect tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and went above and beyond. He was very attentive to our needs. Very professional when driving. The vehicle was comfortable enough to take a quick nap and relax. It is worth not having to rent a car and figure out where to park. He setup our lunch, took pictures for us and boat tour. Highly recommend this tour!
Our guide, André, was great! Very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The car was really nice, very comfortable for a long ride and could have easily accommodated more than just my husband and I. The beaches in Benagil were very crowded, streets were blocked off by police to control traffic (and we couldn’t find parking) so we only had the opportunity to visit one but it was fine with us. We did the optional small group boat ride in Lagos to visit the caves and loved it. We followed it up with a walk around Lagos to learn of the history and see some of the non-touristy areas. Overall this was a great tour where we learned a lot and saw a lot of the beautiful Algarve.
This was a wonderful trip!! From the start, Andres was excellent to communicate with and answered all questions and messages so promptly! Carlos was our driver and guide and was outstanding-punctual upon picking us up from our hotel in Lisbon, funny, personable, and tailored the day to what we wanted to do and see! The Benagil boat ride to the caves was beautiful and Carlos had picked a great restaurant for lunch right near Benagil with waterfront views and amazing local food! We had an incredible day and would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the beautiful southern coast of Portugal!! Cannot say enough great things!!!
This was my second tour with André (my first being to Sintra a couple of years ago) and one of the most memorable travelling experiences I’ve ever had. It started with convenient pick-up from my hotel in central Lisbon, and then a drive down south to the Algarve coast. The whole day was like being on a costal road trip with an old friend. Along the way, André shared plenty of anecdotes, facts and stories about the area, and like with any old friend, somehow we also got onto music, politics, pop culture and conspiracy theories! André took me to local spots for beach walks, coffees, photos and local snacks along the way, which made the whole experience so memorable. When we got to the coast, the rocky landscapes were truly spectacular, and the beaches were very pretty. It’s an area that’s definitely worth a visit. Perhaps the highlight of the trip was picnic lunch on a small secluded beach. It was slightly offset from beaches on either side, so the ocean was super calm, and there was no one else in sight (other beaches we saw along the way were really crowded). Taking a swim in the ocean followed by lunch on the sand was an unforgettable way to appreciate the raw beauty of this area, and its history. This was a great way to explore the coast, avoiding the crowds, and learn about the history and culture of this beautiful part of Portugal. Thanks André for an amazing adventure! I’d recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the coast, with some adventure thrown in, in a convenient one-day trip, and with a super charismatic guide.
