Best wine tasting tour with Nick!

You will be very lucky if you get Nick as your wine lands tour guide! He was excellent! In addition to being very knowledgeable about the wine region he also shared a few interesting home remedies about how not to get a headache from drinking wine with sulfates as well as neutralizing the acidity in wine (which I will definitely be trying). There were six of us on the small group tour, which was perfect. We never felt rushed at the different wine tastings and had time to walk around each wine vineyard. Great experience!

Definitely worth doing!

It was a great day that we passed! Our guide Basil was very nice and professional, his information and stories were spot on. The wineyards were all much appreciated, bottles bought at each of them. Everything - pick up and drop off, the trip, the company, wine, lunch - was excellent!

Operator response

Fantastic. Basil loves happy people.

An informative wine tasting experience

The tour was well organized by Basil (our guide) who was patient, friendly and shared insightful information on the wineries as well as the history of various neighbourhoods within Cape Town and Stellenbosch. Lunch and tastings (chocolate and cheese pairings) were included which helped with learning about the different wines and their uniqueness. I highly recommend African tours!

Glad that you enjoyed the day.

A tasty tour to relish

We experienced African Story's 'Cape Town: Full-Day Winelands Tour with Wine Tastings & Food' tour. Our selection was dictated to some degree by the fact it was the only operator we could find whose pick-up and drop-off included our hotel on the fringe of town. It turned out to be inspired. The tour visited an excellent mix of four vineyards, ranging from family-operated boutique to major producer. There was Pinotage a plenty, it being a wine unique to southern Africa. The winery luncheon was excellent and didn't squib on quality - full table service and several courses. Unfortunately, we were subject to non-stop rain, which may explain why we didn't stop in the quaint town of Stellenbosch to do some exploring on foot. The drive through didn't do justice to what looked a great town to spend some time in. If this is the norm for the tour, I'd recommend trying to find a way to accommodate a pause here. That said, it was truly a full-day, packed itinerary. I think it promised tasting of 12 wines. It substantially outperformed this benchmark. All I can say is cheers to a great value tour.

Operator response

Thanks for joining us, it is a full day at the wineries. Glad that you enjoyed the day.

Fantastic Tour for Wine Lovers

This was a wonderful tour of 4 established vineyards with wine tasting to include cheese and chocolate as well as a delicious lunch, which as a vegetarian I had plenty of choice. Our guide Donovan was incredibly welcoming, fun and knowledgeable about wines and their history and never made the day feel rushed at all. There were 2 other people on the tour from Australia and we all got on so well it really made the day one of our best whilst on holiday.

Operator response

Fantastic, glad that you enjoyed thae day.
