Mariam, die Tochter des Königs Ashot I., versprach, 30 Kirchen zu Ehren ihres verstorbenen Mannes zu bauen. Sie hielt ihr Versprechen zeitlebens. Einer von ihnen, Sevanavank, wurde 874 erbaut. Sevanavank wurde im 4. Jahrhundert gegründet und erlebte seine Entwicklung im 9. Jahrhundert. Neben den beiden stehenden Kirchen verdient das einzigartige Khachkar aus dem 17. Jahrhundert mit seinen vielen biblischen Szenen besondere Aufmerksamkeit. Der Name der Hauptstadt, Jerewan, wurde zum ersten Mal auf der Kuppel von Sevanavank aufgezeichnet.
Ein Winterwunderland. Tsaghkadzor verwandelt sich in ein Winterwunderland, wenn Schnee die Landschaft bedeckt. Skibegeisterte freuen sich über die gut ausgestatteten Pisten des Mount Teghenis, die Abfahrten für alle Könnerstufen bieten. Snowboarden, Rodeln und Schneemobilfahren sind ebenfalls beliebte Aktivitäten und sorgen für endlosen Winterspaß.
Eingebettet in die malerischen Berge von Tsaghkadzor, Armenien, liegt das alte Kecharis-Kloster, ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und ein Zeugnis des reichen kulturellen und religiösen Erbes des Landes. Kecharis stammt aus dem 11. bis 13. Jahrhundert und war nicht nur ein Ort der Anbetung; Es war ein blühendes Zentrum des Lernens und der Bildung. Absolutely fantastic tour! I highly recommend it, especially if you're visiting during the winter and want to experience some snow. The tour began at Lake Sevan and included a stop at a monastery (I can’t remember the name) where you’ll need to climb 200 stairs, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. If you prefer to spend more time in Tsaghkadzor, I’d suggest booking a private tour instead. With this group tour, you’ll only have about an hour and a half to explore the winter wonderland.

I had an amazing time on the tour. Our guide, Hasmik, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She provided excellent explanations of the attractions and made the experience even better. Norik, our driver, was great as well, always punctual and made sure we felt safe throughout the trip. The bus was spacious, comfortably fitting 10-12 passengers. The attractions they selected were top-notch, and I’d highly recommend this tour to everyone.
