Der erste Halt auf Ihrer Taipeh-Halbtagestour ist das weltberühmte National Palace Museum, das auch eines der größten Museen der Welt ist. Mit einer Sammlung von fast 700.000 Stücken alter Chinesischer Artefakte und Kunstwerke präsentiert das Museum 8.000 Jahre Chinesische Kunstgeschichte über mehrere Dynastien hinweg. Zwei der berühmtesten ausgestellten Kunstwerke sind „der Jadeitenkohl“ und „der fleischförmige Stein“, die im National Palace Museum unbedingt gesehen werden sollten.
Die nächste Station ist die Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, ein beeindruckendes Denkmal in Erinnerung an den verstorbenen Präsidenten der Republik China, Chang Kai-shek. Um die Haupthalle zu erreichen, müssen Sie 89 Stufen hinaufsteigen, die Chang Kai-Sheks Alter darstellen, als er starb. Hier findet der Wechsel der Wachzeremonie stündlich zur Stunde ab 09:00 Uhr in der Haupthalle statt.
Neben der majestätischen Haupthalle der Gedenkstätte sind auch der exquisite Chinesische Garten rund um das Gebäude und der weitläufige Platz einen Besuch wert. Wenn Sie am frühen Morgen hierher kommen, können Sie dort einige Leute sehen, die Qigong praktizieren.
Unsere Tour geht weiter mit einem Besuch des Longshan Tempels, wo die Einheimischen um Glück beten oder innere Ruhe finden. Hier erfahren Sie mehr über Taiwans religiösen Glauben und Praktiken. Der Tempel wurde 1738 erbaut und Guanyin (der Göttin der Barmherzigkeit) geweiht. Der Tempel wurde während des Luftangriffs auf Taipeh schwer beschädigt, aber die Statue von Guanyin überlebte den Angriff. I took this tour on an extended layover in Taipei as I wanted to make the most of my time and see the city. This half day tour was perfect and included three cultural stops. The National Palace Museum is huge and houses so many artifacts that it would be hard to see them all. Our tour guide was able to show us the most valuable and important pieces and provide history and stories behind them. We were able to see the changing of the guard at Memorial Hall and visit the beautiful Longshan Temple. James our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and kept us on time. This tour is great for anyone pressed for time that wants a taste of Taipei.
