Our guide Nadia was awesome! People in our group was great too. I really recommend this ceremony in this place for the first timers, because it was much gentler than the one I had last time in Playa del Carmen. The cenote in this village was also wonderful, compared to other ones I’ve been. We had a great time here and learned how to say thank you in Mayan language. I used it to Mayan guide next day and he was happy to hear it.

It was an unforgettable moment!! With our guide Jonathan, we had a really amazing experience!! We escape for a few hours of our world with this Mayan ceremony and especially stay for a good time in a kind of natural sauna with burning stones in the dark and there we eliminate all our toxins before diving a very fresh cenote and a typical Mayan dinner .. frankly it is absolutely necessary to do it to connect to the essentials of our existence!!... Just thank you to Jonathan.
Although the Tour says that it is four hours, that did not include the 2 1/2 hours drive to get there and 2 1/2 hours back. The driver never said a word, to the point that we thought we may be kidnapped! The tour also was advertised as small group however that is just how many people are in the van. Once we got to the site, many other vans drove up so the actual tour was nearly 40 people. Not what we had signed up for! Other than that, the actual experience was very interesting and the food was better than it needed to be.
Tour operator can cub travel experts is a terrible company. Did not pick us up from my location twice , and said it’s a no show
This was an incredible experience. The guides were wonderful and the entire ceremony was well explained. I will say it is about 2 hours down from Cancun though so bring some snacks! Thank you to the Mayan people for sharing this experience with us!
The entire experience met our expectations. There were guides who spoke as many languages as needed. While we would recommend the experience to others, there were two things that disappointed us. We booked a hotel pickup in advance at an upcharge, but we were informed they weren’t from Viator, so we had to walk to a meeting point. Secondly, we were informed by our guide at the site that the sweat lodge experience at hand was just a tourist version, so it lacked the four openings feature of the authentic version, among other things. The experience was a great primer for a deeper experience for most.

This was an awesome experience. Being in the temazcal was incredibly intense, but it felt amazing to be able to make it through the whole ceremony. The guides were very helpful and told everyone many times how they could let the shaman know that they needed to leave the temazcal before the ceremony was over if it was too much for them. One person left as soon as it started, others in the middle, and a couple just before it ended, and there were no issues, those people were let out promptly. I would recommend doing a little research on the culture and their use of the ceremony before going as it will make the experience even better. My only issue was the lack of timing details in the event page and confirmation email. The timing varies depending on where you are getting picked up. It says it's a 4-hour event, but for us it was 8-hours because we didn't realize we were staying 2-hours away from the ceremony location. This was not an issue but it would have been better to be prepared for that. Overall great experience, wonderful and friendly guides, AMAZING food, would recommend, and would go again.

The ceremony was not only a cool cultural experience but was really cathartic. When you are in the temazcal its pitch black and they have everyone scream at the top of their lungs to get all the negeativity and stress out! Where in our daily lives can you just scream?? It felt great! The cenote is so beyond gorgeous. The guides were great. The dinner is very simple which of course is totally fine but there were so many bones and little bit in the chicken i just couldnt keep eating. Very long commute to get there. Overall great experience!
