Fahren Sie 45 Minuten von Katakolon nach Olympia mit Kommentaren Ihres Reiseleiters an Bord. Genießen Sie nach Ihrer Ankunft in Olympia eine Führung durch die archäologische Stätte und das Museum mit einem offiziell lizenzierten englischsprachigen Reiseleiter. Anschließend haben Sie freie Zeit, um die moderne Stadt Olympia zu erkunden, bevor Sie zum Hafen zurückkehren. Wir stellen immer sicher, dass Sie vor der „Alle an Bord“-Zeit wieder im Hafen sind. Die Startzeit der Tour hängt von der Ankunftszeit des Kreuzfahrtschiffs ab. Wenn das Schiff beispielsweise um 09:00 Uhr ankommt, beginnt die Tour um 09:30 Uhr statt um 08:30 Uhr.

In der archäologischen Stätte sehen Sie neben mehreren anderen Überresten wichtiger Gebäude das Gymnasium und die Palästra, das runde Philipeion, die Werkstatt des Phidias, in der die Gold- und Elfenbeinstatue des Zeus gebaut wurde, die Tempel des Zeus und der Hera, den Altar, auf dem heute die olympische Fackel angezündet wird, und das antike Olympiastadion.
Im Archäologischen Museum sind alle Funde untergebracht, die an der archäologischen Stätte ausgegraben wurden. Opfergaben aus Bronze und Ton (Stative und Figuren), Rüstungen, Vasen, die Werkzeuge und Becher aus der Werkstatt des Phidias, der prächtige Hermes von Praxiteles, die Nike von Paeonios und die sehr beeindruckenden und sehr gut erhaltenen klassischen Statuen aus den Giebeln des Zeustempels usw.
Ihre Tour wird mit einer völlig anderen Atmosphäre fortgesetzt. Das moderne Dorf Olympia liegt neben der archäologischen Stätte und dem Museum, wo Sie mit den Einheimischen etwas trinken oder die Hauptstraße mit ihren vielen Geschäften erkunden können, in denen Sie alles finden, von Schmuck und Kleidung bis hin zu Kunsthandwerk für Sie und Ihre Lieben!

We loved every minute of our tour! Our guide was informative and personable. She did an excellent job of avoiding the crowds whenever possible and gave us time to explore our surroundings in Olympia. I would definitely recommend this tour.

I loved this tour! We only had 11 people in our group and our guide was an archaeologist who was so informative about the entire site. We got there early and toured the museums first which really helped us understand the site before arriving. Our guide was fantastic and told us some stories of Greek mythology too!

Excellent tour of the archaeological sites and the museum. There is some shade at the site, but make sure you take a hat or umbrella and plenty of water as it gets very hot.

We were lucky enough to get Zoe as our guide. She’s a trained archeologist and knew an incredible amount of detail about the archeological site. The transportation was top notch and the tour ran right on schedule. Definitely take the lunch option if it’s offered. The food was authentic and very good.

Super tour to ancient Olympia with Niki Tours! Our guide, Zoe, was fantastic!!! She gave us background history during the drive. And she did a great job guiding us thru the ancient site. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide (I think Shelly was her name) was extremely knowledgeable and had a good understanding of archeology and the history of Greece. She organised our small group so that we did not get stuck with the masses of 40+ people bus tourists and we had a very relaxing time and back well in time for our ships departure. She also was independent and not pushing any agendas!

Our tour to Olympia and site of the original Olympic Games was unbelievable. Our tour guide Zoey was extremely knowledgeable and walked us through the various section of the site as well as through the museum. She gave a real sense of the Olympic spirit and her descriptions of the various works of art were fantastic. The tour ended with a wonderful and delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant which also included an OPA dance presentation. We truly felt immersed in the Olympic and Greek culture for a day. Kudos also to our bus driver who went out of his way to make our journey comfortable and minimize walking.
