From the pick up to the drop off, this tour was very well organized! A driver, our tour guide Nikoletta, and even a licensed tour guide for the archeological site of Olympia & the museum! The cooking class at the family owned restaurant was so much fun. Maria taught us to prepare Tatzikki & zucchini fritters! The hospitality was 5 star and the food was so delicious! A tour & tasting at a local olive oil mill was also very nice! On to Olympia for our private tour at an accelerated pace, which we requested. Very interesting & informative. I would highly recommend visiting olympia in the afternoon. No crowds and it’s not as hot. We had the option to stop at a beach with lovely views, but time didn’t allow. Nikoletta knew we had to tender back to our cruise ship, and she made sure we were back with time to spare! A perfect afternoon leaving us with great memories of Katakalo🇬🇷❤️
This was an amazing experience! We were picked up at the port and taken right to Olympia where we did the cooking class in a family restaurant. It was so fun and delicious! Then we went to the ancient Olympia site where a guide took us around the grounds and through the museum. After that, we stopped by an olive oil farm where we tasted several oils and were able to purchase them to take home. Finally, we had free time at a beach where we walked, swam and grabbed some drinks. This was one of the best tours my friends and family have ever taken. We would suggest 100 times over! Thank you for a great, authentic experience! We will remember this day for years to come.
The cooking class was wonderful and delicious. They bring you back for lunch so you are stuffed ! It in a good way. Olympic village was a very interesting experience, a travel through time. We enjoyed the olive grove tour as well. Very informative. The man there was crude in his dialogue though.
Our guide Chris was very friendly and informative about Greece and the area. Our cooking class & lunch at a home at an olive farm was casual, outdoor and lovely. Maria was a fun host. We could have sat there all day. Tour of Olympus was fascinating. Thanks for a great day Chris!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Olympia. Nassos personally showed us the lay of the land, allowed us to self-guide through the grounds and the museum, and arranged to meet us afterwards at his restaurant. The food was delicious and service impeccable. Nassos runs the transportation service, the restaurant, and farms an olive grove. In spite of all that he was very attentive and we felt very supported.
We booked separate tour to avoid the crowded bus from our cruise group and it was great. Andreas met us at the port and we were on the road before the cruise bus was even loaded! We enjoyed walking through the museum exhibits before the crowds showed up and then walked the site. Andreas provided a helpful additional book as reference as we made our way around the site. It was hot, bring water. We did a bit of shopping and got gelato in Olympia before he drove us right back to the ship. Highly recommend this for the convenience and avoiding the crowds.
