Das Denkmal "Arch of Charents" wurde vom Architekten Raphael Israelyan geschaffen. Eines Tages auf dem Weg nach Garni hielt er an diesem Ort an und als er bemerkte, dass sich von dort ein malerischer Blick auf den Berg Ararat öffnet, beschloss er, einen Bogen als "Tempel" nach Ararat zu bauen. Der Bogen wurde 1957 anlässlich des 60. Jahrestages des großen armenischen Dichters Yeghishe Charents errichtet. Es wird erzählt, dass der Dichter auch gerne an diesem Ort spazierte. Es ist wie ein Bilderrahmen, von dem sich ein faszinierender Blick auf das Ararat-Tal mit Masis in der Ferne öffnet. Die folgenden Worte vervollständigen Charents berühmtes Gedicht sind auf der vorderen Öffnung entlang des Bogens eingeritzt: "Es gibt keinen Gipfel, der so schneeweiß ist wie der des hohen Ararat; Wie ein unzugänglicher Weg zum Ruhm liebe ich meinen Mount Masis!" Sie können hier atemberaubende Bilder vor der Kulisse des Arch und Mountain Ararat machen, nur das Wetter sollte klar sein.
Der Garni-Tempel, der ein dreieckiges Kap überragt, ist das einzige erhaltene Beispiel der heidnischen Kultur in Armenien. Es ist eine Mischung aus griechisch-römischen und armenischen Stilen. König Trdat Der Erste ordnete den Bau des Tempels im ersten Jahrhundert n. Chr. an und widmete ihn dem Gott der Sonne.Nach der Annahme des Christentums im Jahr 301 verlor der heidnische Tempel seine Bedeutung und die Festung Garni wurde zur Sommerresidenz der Könige. Heutzutage befinden sich in der Nähe des Tempels die Ruinen des königlichen Palastes und das Badezimmer mit einer atemberaubenden Mosaikarbeit.

Diese majestätischen Basaltsäulen, geformt aus alter Vulkanlava, erheben sich in perfekten vertikalen Linien wie eine riesige Steinorgel. Umgeben von der dramatischen Schönheit der Schlucht offenbart dieser einzigartige Ort die Kraft, Harmonie und zeitlose Kunst der Natur.
Das Kloster Geghard ist das unübertroffene Meisterwerk der armenischen Architektur des 13. Jahrhunderts. Einige der Kirchen der Anlage sind meisterhaft in einen riesigen Felsen gehauen. Von Anfang an hieß der Komplex Ayrivank (Höhlenkloster), später wurde er in Geghard (Lanze) umbenannt, da die Lanze, die der römische Soldat zum Stechen der Seite Jesu Christi verwendete, in diesem Kloster seit vielen Jahrhunderten aufbewahrt wurde. Aufgrund ihrer Konstruktion ist die Geghardavank der beste Ort, um geistliche Lieder zu singen. Der Komplex ist reich an subtilen skulpturalen Verzierungen und vielen markanten Khachkars (Kreuzsteinen). Die Stätte ist in die Liste des UNESCO-Kulturerbe aufgenommen.

We took our first tour today, and it exceeded all our expectations. The van was spotless, comfortable, air-conditioned, and even had car seats ready for the children. Taron, our driver, was incredibly professional, friendly, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip. Rose was an amazing guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and generous with everything she shared about Armenia. Together, they set the standard extremely high for what a great driver and tour guide should be. They also recommended a local restaurant where we had an incredible meal, which made the experience even more special. We are beyond happy with the entire tour and highly recommend them to anyone visiting Armenia!

Excellent experience! Beautiful places, nature plus old construction. Very beautiful and unique. Likely, not something would have experienced in other parts of Europe. Do it as a private tour if you can - much better, not rushed, and lots of information/conversation with the guide. Our guide was Mariam and driver Arman - both were top!

Our tour guide Rose and the driver Aved accompanied us on a beautiful excursion. We were picked up by the comfortable limousine from the hotel and learned a lot about Armenia's history from Rose (by the way, very engagingly told). Aved drives very pleasantly and confidently; nothing disturbed his calm, and he accompanied us all day with a friendly smile. We visited the ancient temple of Garni, the Geghard Monastery, and the volcanic rock formations "Symphony of Stones." As a special surprise, Rose organized a small outdoor dinner for us featuring specialties of Armenian cuisine. The richly laid table was the crowning conclusion to a perfect day of excursions. On our very first day in Armenia, we experienced a wonderful welcome in this way: we arrived as tourists, and we left as guests and friends. We were so excited that we booked another tour on the same day! 😍
