Gyumri ist eine der zweitwichtigsten Städte in Armenien. Kulturell bedeutendes Zentrum. Viele berühmte Filme wurden in dieser Stadt gedreht.

Der Harich-Klosterkomplex befindet sich in der Region Shirak, am Nordhang des Berges Aragats. Es besteht aus zwei Kirchen: St. Gregor und St. Astvatsatsin, ein Vestibül, ein Glockenturm, Depots, eine Kapelle, eine Schule und andere Gebäude. Über den Bau der ersten Kirche des Klosters sind keine eindeutigen Informationen erhalten geblieben, aber die Analyse der Inschriften an den Wänden beweist, dass die Kirche aus dem 7. Jahrhundert stammt. Harichavank war ein wichtiges Bildungszentrum, das vor allem im 13. Jahrhundert blühte. Es ist ein weiteres Beispiel für armenisches mittelalterliches architektonisches Denken, ein Spiegelbild des Geistes der Zeit und ein historisches Zeugnis. Der berühmte armenische Schriftsteller Avetik Isahakyan erhielt seine Grundschulbildung an der örtlichen Schule.
Die zweite Stadt Armeniens, Gyumri, die auch Leninakan, Alexandrapol und in der ursprünglichen armenischen Version Kumayri hieß, war seit dem 3. Jahrtausend bewohnt. Nach einem sehr langen historischen Weg präsentiert sich Gyumri heute mit seiner Altstadt, die am besten im Stadtzentrum erhalten ist. Jedes Gebäude in Gyumri hat seine Geschichte, die reich an armenischem mittelalterlichen Architekturgeist ist. Diese Touristenstadt ist attraktiv wegen ihrer schönen Gebäude, Straßen, Kirchen und natürlich ihrer unwiederholbaren, einzigartigen Gyumri-Stimmung; schließlich ist Gyumri das Zentrum des Humors, der Kunst und des Handwerks Armeniens. Die drei berühmten Kirchen von Gyumri und die Schwarze Festung sind ebenfalls in der Stadtführung enthalten.
Die Schwarze Festung ist eine Verteidigungsfestung aus schwarzem Stein. Sie wurde 1834 nach dem Zweiten Russisch-Persischen Krieg erbaut. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit verdient das Entwässerungssystem, das die Mauern der Burg vor Regen schützte. Die Schwarze Festung, heute ein Touristenzentrum, erinnert Besucher an ihre militärische Vergangenheit.
Samstags besuchen wir statt Harichavank das Marmashen-Kloster.

You will be able to see a different glimpse of Armenia via numerous small villages to reach the monastery and ultimately you will arrive at a beautiful city. The guide Hayk was very informed and in perfect English informed about every aspect and driver Vahagn was very carefull. It is of great interest to try to see the Iron Fountain if you can walk which is far away from the centre and the Blue Iron Fountain which is close to the centre.

Yesterday I was on a day trip to Gyumri, Harichavank and Black Fortress with One Way tour and I wanna say a huge thanks to our Guide Tigran who made our trip unforgettable. That was the best tour ever. He’s professionalism is outstanding and our day was amazing, full of interesting stories and jokes. Waiting forward to see him again in other tours as well. Overall a very full and enjoyable day. The tour shuttle was full and we didn't get very good seats, but really that was the only downside. The guide Hayk did a Great Job handling the tour in Armenian and English. The destinations were quite interesting and we felt that we had enough time in each place to explore fully. A very good sightseeing option at a very reasonable price!

The driver Artyom 5+ The guide Tigran 2- Please take care of your guide's training. He is ignorant of Armenian church history and provides wrong information. And he provides either wrong or half done information on everything. Which is unacceptable because he introduces Armenia to foreigners and local people. Guide's job is a serious job. And they should be very well prepared.

13.08.24 was a tour of Marmashen, Seve Bird, and Gyumri City tour, very much enjoyed everything, especially the accompanying guide Armine, very interesting to listen to, took many photos, would gladly go on tour again!
