Die Kathedrale von Etschmiadsin (wörtliche Übersetzung: Die Abstammung des Eingeborenen) ist das Zentrum der ursprünglich im frühen 3. Jahrhundert v. Chr. erbauten armenisch-apostolischen Kirche und eine Reihe von Quellen geben auch an, dass Etschmiadsin die älteste offizielle christliche Kirche der Welt ist. Sie besuchen die St. Hripsime-Kirche, die auf dem Grab einer christlichen Nonne Hripsime erbaut wurde, die aus dem Römischen Reich geflohen ist und in Armenien getötet wurde. Dieses erstaunliche Gebäude steht seit dem Tag seines Baus seit 618 v. Chr. Auf und ist damit eine der ältesten stehenden Kirchen der Welt.
Die Mutterkathedrale des Heiligen Etchmiadzin dient als geistliches Zentrum der Armenischen Apostolischen Kirche. Die Kathedrale ist ein Symbol für die nationale Identität und das Erbe Armeniens und spiegelt die tief verwurzelte christliche Tradition des Landes wider.
5 Autominuten entfernt liegt die nächste Haltestelle: die Kirche St. Gayane aus dem 7. Jahrhundert. Gayane war das Kindermädchen von Hripsime und teilte das tragische Schicksal von Hripsime.
Wir machen einen Halt in einem anderen schönen Tempel aus dem 7. Jahrhundert, der ebenfalls in der UNESCO-Liste des Weltkulturerbes aufgeführt ist. Der Legende nach bedeutet der Name „Zvartnots“ „Himmelsengel“, inspiriert von dem Glauben, dass Engel einst über den Tempel wachten.
Die Klosteranlage von Geghard, die zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört, ist eine weitere historische Stätte, die in dieser privaten Tour enthalten ist. Der Name „Geghard“ leitet sich von dem Speer (geghard) ab, der die Seite Jesu Christi durchstoßen haben soll, die viele Jahre im Kloster untergebracht war. Das Kloster Geghard gilt als eine der bedeutendsten religiösen Stätten Armeniens. Das Erstaunlichste ist, dass diese Kirche direkt in den festen Fels gehauen ist.
Garni Gorge ist eine atemberaubende natürliche Attraktion in Armenien, in der Nähe des Dorfes Garni. Perfect booking process. Contacting them was easy through the portal or WhatsApp. All questions regarding the tour were answered more or less immediately. Our driver Rafael was punctual to the minute in front of our hotel and safely chauffeured us through the day with his relaxed and considerate driving style. The car was very well-maintained, air-conditioned, and we had ample time for sightseeing at the stops. Thank you very much!

This time, I asked for a driver, not a guide. The driver, Mr. Armand, was very kind and taught me a lot about Armenia. We didn't have a common language, so we communicated through apps, but we had no problem communicating. Excellent tour. The guide was highly knowledgeable and gave us an in depth overview of the history behind the sights. It was also a plus that there was a separate driver besides the guide.

Srbuhi (Sana), my guide, was very professional, polite and well informed. My driver, Suren, was also professional and drove safely through areas that had snow in the ground. He was cautious which was welcomed. The pace of the tour was just right to allow full enjoyment of the sites we visited. I am deducting one star since I was a bit disappointed at the head office that wouldn't arrange for the return of my hat that was left in the car. I didn’t think it would be such a big deal to have someone drop it off at my hotel on their way to another tour. Perhaps, as a regular traveler, I was expecting for a bit more post-tour customer service. I bought a new hat😃
