It was an amazing experience and Francis our tour guide was so nice and kind. The destinations were incredible.
Excellent tour with the guide doing a great job with repeating instructions and meet up time. It was easy to follow and lot of good information, totally recommend
Lots & Lots of walking. If you’re doing this tour in July, beware of the extreme heat & humidity. It just made the walks and treks up the stairs more difficult. By the time we got to the Geo Park we were just so exhausted. Our guide Vaness was super nice, we were a small group of 7 and he had to explain in English and Japanese; which was totally fine but it was very difficult to hear him even in a small van. I wish he did slow down a bit, he would always walk so far ahead and the rest of the group had to keep catching up. Nonetheless, the tour was good, we enjoyed the lantern portion. We had lunch in Juifen with a gorgeous view where you had to walk through a secret tunnel. This tour is totally worth the money.
The whole day was informative, punctual and very good experience despite of very humid hot day. I thought the itinerary was rightly timed and we never felt rushed or too much time to kill. Our guide, James was responsible to make sure everybody was well informed and best experience that we could have. I participated with my 18 year old son and he enjoyed the tour very much.
I'll admit that I was a bit reticent about this tour, since this itinerary is very touristy and I was worried that it would be too one-size-fits-none. In a group of 40-ish people, that's kind of unavoidable, which I get. It's also tricky to choose which of the seemingly identical itineraries to choose - we chose this one because the pick-up and drop-off locations were most convenient for us; ending at Raohe Night Market was nice, even though it was about an hour too early for the market to really get rolling. I think we could have had less time at the Shifen waterfall and maybe, like, 15 minutes less in Jiufen, but otherwise, the timings seemed pretty appropriate. It also would have been nice if the bus had been available to sit on earlier than 10-15 minutes before the meeting time because, if you were done earlier than the meeting time, it was awfully hot to be hanging around outside. All the places we went, though, were cool and worth visiting - these are mostly nit-picks. That said, our guide, Amy, won me over and made this a great experience overall! She's a little wacky and I dig it - I like a guide who inserts a bit of her own commentary and life story into the tour and now I kind of want to be Amy when I grow up. :) She was also able to seamlessly switch between English and Japanese, leading a fully bilingual tour - impressive! And she created a Whatsapp group for us the night before to give us important info and send photos throughout the day, which was a really nice touch and a sign of a true professional.
Jennie was great at going through all the details. Beautiful scenery, though I think the beach rock scenery was the weakest (though this was at the end when I was tired). Alot of walking (in the sun for me) so bring water is a must and a hat/umbrella is recommended. The tour finishing at Night market was very convenient.
Kate Hsiao was an amazing guide!! Upbeat, full of interesting and helpful information, and very good at keeping us to our schedule while letting us enjoy some free time. The tour is a busy, full day, but there is “down” time built into the schedule so that you aren’t overwhelmed and exhausted halfway through the day. I especially enjoyed the free time in Jiufen, where we were able to enjoy a peaceful break in a tea house with a stunning view of the ocean. I highly recommend this tour!!
Kelly Shao was an amazing tour guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting and informative information about every place we visited. She also gave us great recommendations for tea shops and local places to eat, which made the experience even better. The entire tour was well organized, enjoyable, and memorable thanks to Kelly’s enthusiasm and expertise. I would highly recommend this tour company to anyone visiting Taiwan, and if you have the chance, definitely ask for Kelly as your guide!
Good bus tour to get out of Taipei for a day. Shifen Village appears to be mostly a tourist attraction and not particularly scenic. We didn't choose to set off a lantern but that was pretty much all there was there to do, and souvenir shopping. The waterfalls are right next to it and they are beautiful so the drive was worth seeing those. Jiufen is very scenic and we enjoyed stopping for lunch with a gorgeous view. The Geopark is quite small but the rock formations are one of a kind. Our tour guide Jerry was great! He always made sure to know where everyone was and took photos for everyone.
Great day despite a lot of rain. So much to see. Lots of walking. Loved it. Exceptional guide, Pauline.
