Die San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge ist ein Symbol der Gegend von San Diego – genau wie die Golden Gate oder die San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridges.
Erleben Sie atemberaubende Ausblicke auf das Meer, glitzernde Sandstrände, elegante Gärten, alte Herrenhäuser, malerische Geschäfte und das berühmte architektonische Meisterwerk Hotel Del Coronado.
Der Haupthafen von der Insel nach San Diego Downtown bietet einen unvergleichlichen Blick auf die Stadt. Ikonische Geschäfte und Restaurants säumen die Küste, sobald Sie das Dock verlassen.
Das Hotel Del Coronado ist ein historisches Gebäude mit klassischer leuchtend roter viktorianischer Architektur, das seit 130 Jahren die Gewässer von Coronado Beach überblickt. Bekannt dafür, viele Prominente und US-Präsidenten zu beherbergen, wurde das Del 1977 zum National Historic Landmark erklärt.
Während der Tour halten wir im Gaslamp Quarter für eine 1-stündige Mittagspause. Das Gaslamp Quarter, bekannt als das historische Herz von San Diego, ist ein 16 Blocks umfassendes Innenstadtviertel voller Nachtleben und weltberühmter Restaurants. Voller viktorianischer Architektur und kleiner Museen, sowie dem Horton Plaza Park und dem Petco Park, ist es ein Muss.
Little Italy ist ein schickes, fußgängerfreundliches Viertel voller trendiger Cocktailbars, Braukneipen und Restaurants mit belebten Innenhöfen. Gehobene Modeboutiquen, Veranstaltungsorte für Indie-Musik und malerische Piazzas prägen das Viertel, während der wöchentliche Little Italy Mercato Farmers' Market mit seiner Mischung aus Produkten, Gourmetgerichten und Kunsthandwerksständen viele Menschen anzieht. Die grünen Rasenflächen des Waterfront Park haben Springbrunnen und bieten einen Blick auf die Bucht.
Der Balboa Park ist ein 1.200 Hektar großer historischer städtischer Kulturpark in San Diego, Kalifornien, USA. Neben Freiflächen, natürlichen Vegetationszonen, Grüngürteln, Gärten und Spazierwegen enthält es Museen, mehrere Theater und den San Diego Zoo.
Das mit einem weißen Kreuz gekrönte Mt. Soledad-Denkmal ehrt lebende und tote Soldaten vom Unabhängigkeitskrieg bis hin zum modernen Krieg gegen den Terror. Es verfügt über schwarze Granitplatten, die jeden ehren, vom Präsidenten bis zum gewöhnlichen Alltagssoldaten
Ein malerischer Strand, umgeben von wassergeschnitzten Klippen und voll von Gezeitentümpeln und beliebten Orten zur Beobachtung von Robben. Die Küstenlinie ist als Teil eines Meeresschutzgebiets geschützt und voller kaum berührter natürlicher Schönheit.
Besuchen Sie Mt. Soledad, um vom höchsten Küstenberg aus die ganze Stadt zu überblicken. Genießen Sie den dramatischen Meerblick von der Küste bis zu den Bergen, erleben Sie eine natürliche Bucht, mysteriöse Höhlen, schroffe Klippen, eine reiche Unterwasserwelt und sogar einige lebhafte Robben.

We had a wonderfully informative and entertaining highlights tour of San Diego with our guide, Julia. She made the 4-hour trip a real insight into the city and its surrounding areas, sharing a rich knowledge of the history, culture, botany, and local life. It was very good and worth it and our guide Julia was fantastic, she knew a lot and even recommended great places to eat, took us to see all the highlights in Balboa Park and gave us enough time in La Jolla to watch the sea lions and birds.
