Der Balboa Park ist das kulturelle Juwel von San Diego mit zahlreichen Architekturen, Gärten und kulturellen Organisationen. Halten Sie eine Kamera bereit, da sich an jeder Ecke Instagram-Punkte befinden.
Wir machen eine Pause auf unserem Spaziergang über die Brücke, um die Aussicht auf die Innenstadt, den San Diego Zoo und die historische Autobahn zu bewundern.
Der California Tower ist nicht nur für den Park, sondern auch für San Diego ein Wahrzeichen. Der fast 200 Fuß hohe Turm wurde für die Panama California Exposition 1915 gebaut und die Geschichte der Gründung von San Diego in seiner reich verzierten Fassade. Dieses Gebäude war das größte seiner Art, als es für die Ausstellung von 1915 gebaut wurde, und eines von vier Gebäuden, die für die Dauer der Feierlichkeiten errichtet wurden. Davor befindet sich ein historischer Teich, in dem wir Koi und andere Wildtiere beobachten können.
Diese farbenfrohe Sammlung von Cottages, die für die California Pacific International Exposition 1935 gebaut wurden, beherbergt 37 Studios und viele weitere Künstler. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, dieses einzigartige Dorf zu erkunden und auch ein Getränk zu sich zu nehmen!
Dieser prächtige Baum, der für die Weltausstellung 1915 gepflanzt wurde, hat in den vergangenen hundert Jahren schon viel gesehen, und dank einer neuen Aussichtsplattform können wir ihn ganz aus der Nähe betrachten.
Dieser nach dem Gründer des Komitees der Einhundert benannte Brunnen lockt Kinder, Hunde und Vögel an und verfügt außerdem über eine überraschende Funktion, die vom Fleet Center nebenan aktiviert wird.
Dieses Gebäude ist die Heimat vieler kultureller und botanischer Organisationen und birgt auch die Geheimnisse darüber, wie die detaillierte Architektur des Parks schnell und kostengünstig geschaffen wurde.

Good overview of Balboa Park. The guide was very knowledgeable about the park's history. Perhaps walking at a faster pace and more time at the Spanish Village Art Center would improve the tour.

This was a wonderful experience for our first time to Balboa Park! Jennifer was our guide and she was lovely, extremely informative, and kept our group of 14 organized! My husband and I were in a group with the Sanchez family who were celebrating their father’s 90th birthday and he walked all over the park like a champ! Easy to book... several clear reminders of time and place of tour. Good directions. Jennifer was a very pleasant, knowledgeable and organized guide. She gave us a head's up on the Friday's night special at the natural museum with their night-time viewing, and light and delicious dinner on the rooftop terrace. A very nice way to end the day. We loved the history of all that we saw and felt we learned quite a bit. We felt we got a great overview of Balboa Park, and we were able to make mindful decisions for the next day explorations. We even stopped for another refreshing drink at Daniel's :-)

Had a great tour of Balboa Park with Jennifer. It was a small tour of 4 people which made it easy to hear her and the information provided. There is a lot of history and detail that would be missed if never taking the tour. She drinks provided were a nice treat too. Highly recommend the tour for first timers and for people who have been before to learn more about the history of the park.
