På North Stradbroke Island Tour kan vandrende hvaler ses fra juni til oktober, sammen med delfiner og skildpadder hele året rundt. Øen har fantastisk havudsigt og har en rig historie. På vej til Point Lookout, vil vi stoppe ved Myora Springs, en lille flod, der fører ind i de omkringliggende mangrover. Om eftermiddagen besøger vi Amity Point for en mild gåtur under kystgummier, der holder øje med koalas, der hviler højt i overfladen. Vi kommer om bord på færgen til den naturskønne 45-minutters krydsning af Moreton Bay. Som fastlandet falmer bag os, nyde udstrakte havudsigt og chancen for at observere havfugle og marine liv, mens du lærer om øens plads i dette vigtige marine økosystem.
“Capeembah” Myora Springs er et smukt sted og en kilde til ferskvand for dyrelivet i Dunwich-området, kun få kilometer fra Dunwich på vejen til Amity Point og Point Lookout. Myora Springs, eller Moongalba (siddende sted) har en rent ferskvandskilde, der kører i dag, ligesom den har gjort i tusinder af år. I skoven omkring Myora Springs er der en overflod af ferskvandskrebs, rejer, bungwal-bregne og andre vegetabilske fødevarer, og det er derfor ingen overraskelse at høre, at dette var et yndet campingsted for aboriginerne. Bankerne har dele af store møddinger, som blandt andet indeholder hjertemusling, østers og snegleskaller.
Gorge Walk ved Point Lookout er et must for alle besøgende på øen. Denne blide gåtur byder på enestående udsigt over havet og er et ideelt udsigtspunkt til at spotte havliv såsom skildpadder, delfiner og manta rays. Fra juni til november kan besøgende glæde sig over at se pukkelhvaler passere tæt på kysten på deres årlige vandring. Gorge Walk byder også på en fantastisk udsigt langs den smukke Main Beach til Jumpinpin, øens sydspids.
Der er masser af muligheder for at vælge til en lækker frokost i Point Lookout. Og der er to fantastiske isbutik at vælge imellem.
Efter frokost besøger vi en af de smukke strande omkring Amity Point. Vi besøger Amity Point for en mild tur under kystgummier, holde øje med koalas hviler højt i overfladen. Dette rolige kystområde tilbyder et langsommere tempo og en chance for at nyde øens fredelige atmosfære.
En naturlig højtliggende sø, rent regnvand, der er brunet af de indfødte tetræer, Brown Lake eller Lake Bummiera, er en skjult skat. Populært badested og picnicsted. Den rolige stilhed ved søen er fortryllende, især hvis du besøger den tidligt om morgenen eller sent på eftermiddagen. Om foråret er der vilde blomster i det omkringliggende bushland. At North Gorge Walk, jumping family of humpback whales were really amazing. At Amity, wild koalas on the swaying eucalyptus tree in strong wind were not just lovable but admirable. They were totally different from zoo or aquarium. Anita was very friendly and her guide made us more interested in the wildlife and natural environment in North Stradbroke Island Brisbane. I had been to Moreton Island before and enjoyed the Australian islands, so I signed up for this tour because I wanted to visit a different island. I was wondering what a private tour would be like, but it turned out to be an amazing experience, even better than I had imagined! First, our tour guide, Anita, picked us up at our hotel in the morning and drove politely with us throughout. I was so busy right up until the last minute that I didn't have enough time to research the island trip, but I didn't need to worry, Anita took us to many wonderful places! The view from the North Gorge Walk was especially spectacular and beautiful and seemed to make me forget about time! We were lucky enough to see a school of whales, a school of dolphins, and a turtle swimming gracefully. We enjoyed talking with Anita during our trip and had a relaxing lunch break. We also encountered koalas and kangaroos in the wild, making this a truly Australian trip! The most impressive part of the trip was Brown Lake. The leaves of tea trees and other plants change the color of the water in a fantastic way, and I was impressed by this beautiful sight that cannot be seen anywhere else. I decided that I wanted to spend more time on this island and would definitely revisit it again with my husband!! Anita told us many stories all the way back to the hotel after getting off the ferry. We had an exciting day exploring the island, looking for koalas together and discovering iguanas amidst the beautiful sights. I highly recommend this tour, especially for couples who want to enjoy a relaxing and private trip, or for those who want to enjoy Australia's natural beauty by leaving the entire tour to an experienced guide! The island and animal inhabitants did not disappoint. Food was amazing, tour was as described, with so much more. Great way to see wildlife is Australia! Loved the personal tour and custom experience.!

Anita on this tour is a wonderful Guide. He explained it to us in an easy-to-understand and slow way because we only speak English. This is your very own private tour! It was closer than a tour of Morton Island, and the price was convincing. I went there in August in winter and was impressed by the nature on North Stradbrogue Island. Anita will guide you to see lots of koalas and kangaroos in the wild! There's no tour from the Gold Coast, so it's a pity we only go from Brisbane, but this tour will pick us up at our hotel. It's worth taking part in!

The walk along the reefs and North Gorg was really amazing with superb views and the opportunity to spot some marine Wilde life, in spite of the weather and high waves. Also very único was the visit to the Browne Lake. Anita was a very kind and excellent guide, always looking to attend our needs

Had an amazing day full of little surprises from seeing a sea turtle to tiny baby frog's at Brown Lake. Anita is a very knowledgeable guide full of interesting and little known facts.

We had a truly amazing day with Brisbane Nature Tours. Anita picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the ferry -- scenic ride over to North Stradbroke Island. Highlight was the North Gorge walk, with spectacular views of the ocean and the gorge. We saw manta rays, turtles, dolphins, and some interesting birds. Another great stop was at Brown Lake -- it should really be called Rainbow Lake because of the beautiful coloration of the water due to tannins from the tea trees around it. We also saw a koala, some kangaroos, and a monitor lizard at various points in the day and we stopped for a delicious lunch. Because this is a private tour, Anita gave us a a few choices about lunch location and which stops to spend more time at. Her vehicle is clean and very comfortable and Anita was a knowledgeable guide. Can't say enough good things about this tour. (See also pictures posted with this review.)

Anita is an excellent guide and a very pleasant company. She took care of us the whole day, guiding us through beautiful landscapes and dynamic ecosystems where the iconic Australian fauna is there to be observed and photographed 😊: Kangaroo, Koala, birds like the Osprey just to mention one, iguanas, abundant sea life we could see enjoying the transparent waters in the coastline, turtles, dolphins, rays…. The walks and the beautiful lake swim are also experiences we will remember fondly. We surely recommend this excellent tour. Carlos and Jean

This was an excellent trip from pick-up to drop-off, Anita was cheerful, knowledgeable and interesting. North Stradbroke Island provided so many opportunities to see varied landscapes, walk and enjoy the views that it was great to be able to do it at our pace on the private tour.

I could not believe that this was a private tour with just Anita. When she picked us up from our hotel I thought we were going to meet a bus with a larger group. But no, it was just the three of us. We had such a wonderful experience, kangaroos, whales, turtles, eagles and birds just to mention some of what we saw. All in all, we had such a wonderful day and Anita even drops us in the Brisbane CBD so we could have a few collies and a nice meal in the city. Do your self a favour and use Anita for only two or three people, she makes four, how private is that. Highly recommend 👍
