Markedstur, traditionel madlavning og limoncello klasse

Vores mødested er kl. 10.30 ved Porta Carini, indgangsporten til Capo Market, hvor vi henter alle de friske ingredienser, vi skal bruge til vores madlavningskursus. Efterord vil vi være i vores beliggenhed beliggende i et charmerende historisk og ædelt XVII cent. Palazzo, der ligger foran katedralen kaldet Palazzo Asmundo. Her skal vi lave mad til hele formiddagen. Det du vil tilberede er en hel retters siciliansk menu baseret på fisk, kød eller vegetar efter anmodning, i alt tre retter. Vi starter med en forret med lokale olivenost og Monreale-brød med ekstravergin olivenolie med et glas vin. Men menuen er sæsonbestemt, så den ændrer sig. I løbet af klassen vil du tilberede den autentiske sicilianske Limoncello med de citroner, som kokken dyrker i sit land i nærheden af Nebrodi-parken. I slutningen af vores madlavningsdag vil du modtage certifikatet underskrevet af kokken og en lille del af vores hjemmelavede limoncello til at tage med hjem!

Patricia was fabulous. Fun grocery shopping in the market, and then returning to her lovely home in the old part of Palermo. The food was delicious, and learning how to make limoncello was so interesting. Wine was good and conversation was stimulating!! Don’t miss taking the tour with Patrica

Patrizia was so lovely, she shared traditional Sicilian dishes, local wines and how to make limoncello with us in her inviting and charming home. It was a very relaxed and comfortable with just our small group (of 3). I was amazed by the fresh and delicious caponata, Sicilian pesto and fresh swordfish. We enjoyed her hospitality along with her insights to Sicilian history and culture. What a wonderful way to start our stay in Sicily with her personalized instruction. I felt like I was having a meal with a new friend.

Many thanks to Patrizia for hosting two fabulous experiences and sharing your wonderful home. The cooking course yesterday was such fun, and Sonya will be trying some of your recipes from your book back home. The wine tasting course was a real giggle, the other attendees were real fun, and the wine choices with the cheeses and nibbles (with perfect onions) were wonderful. From start to finish, this experience was great! We had Patricia as our host and she was so fabulous and welcoming! We got to walk through the local market and pick our ingredients for our meal and everything was so fresh and tantalizing…to die for! Patricia’s home was very clean and open and she made us feel as if we were all family. I don’t remember what we prepared, just that the wine was flowing along with the conversation and hospitality. I highly encourage everyone to sign up for this Sicilian experience!

Our evening with Sicilian Days was the highlight of our holiday in Sicily. My mum and I were welcomed into Patrizia’s beautiful home with the ingredients laid out and aprons ready to get us into cooking mode. Then we were shown how the local produce is transformed into a delicious meal. With Patrizia’s guidance we made authentic dishes and learnt about the variations, history and customs associated with the food. All of this was accompanied with great wine and nibbles, and above all wonderful conversation about life and cultures. We greatly enjoyed discovering and understanding the heritage and motivations of the average Sicilian, some of which were aligned with our own. Thank you Patrizia for a remarkable evening that will never leave our hearts. We would highly recommend taking away this real sovereign.

Fabulous night with delicious food, lots of wine & great conversation! Arriving in Patrizia’s home is like catching up with an old friend, she is so warm & welcoming. Together we made 4 typical Sicilian dishes that I’ve easily recreated again now I’m home. The actual cooking was simple enough for any aspiring cook but the results were delicious. Highlight of our time in Sicily.
