I had a great time with Iku as the guide! She had a binder full of facts on the area and answered any questions the group had. I went as a solo traveler and felt comfortable being led around to different points of interest by Iku. She showed us some good photo opportunities and helped take photos as well. She helped me collect a goshuin when I asked about it. I learned alot from this experience and have a deeper appreciation of Sapporo.
Thank you so much for your kind review! I’m glad you felt comfortable joining the tour as a solo traveler and that you enjoyed exploring Sapporo with us. It was my pleasure to help you collect a goshuin and share some of the city’s history and culture. I’m delighted to hear that the experience gave you a deeper appreciation of Sapporo. Safe travels, and I hope to welcome you back to Hokkaido someday!
Our tour guide was Tom. He was excellent and was very helpful in giving me information about the area in Sapporo where my mother was from. He made my trip very special for me. His English was great.
Hi Harley, Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a true honor to be part of such a meaningful journey. Helping you explore Sapporo, the city connected to your mother's roots, and diving into the local history was an incredibly special and rewarding experience for me as well. Uncovering those pieces of the past together is something I will always remember. Thank you for trusting me with such an important trip. I hope Sapporo will always hold a special place in your heart. Please come back to visit anytime! Warmly, Tom
This tour is a great introduction to Sapporo history and concludes with an excellent fresh sushi lunch. Our guide Iku was friendly, professional and fun. Highly recommended!
Thank you so much for your kind review and recommendation! I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed learning about Sapporo’s history as well as the sushi lunch 😊 I also really enjoyed our conversations throughout the tour and learned many new things from you as well. Your positive and engaging energy made the experience especially fun for me too. I hope you enjoy the rest of your travels in Japan!
Good, informative tour for adults. Kids might find it boring. Requires walking several city blocks on flat sidewalks.
Thank you very much for joining the tour and for your review! I really appreciated how engaged and thoughtful you were throughout the experience. Your helpful comments will also be valuable for future guests. I hope you had a wonderful time in Sapporo and enjoy the rest of your travels☺️
Had a great walking tour in Sapporo! Highly recommend! My tour guide was easy to talk to and friendly.
Thank you for the kind words! We're so happy you enjoyed your walk through Sapporo and the fresh seafood at Nijo Market, and that you had such a friendly guide. We hope to welcome you back to Hokkaido on your next trip! Best wishes, The Ezosika Travel Team
Our guide was interested intelligent and spoke clear English- he also went the extra mile for us
Thank you for the wonderful review! It was an absolute pleasure guiding such an engaging group. As for the "extra mile," it was no trouble at all since it was right on my way home! I really hope you accomplished your main mission: eating lots of crab! By the way, if you want to taste even more amazing crab, you should definitely come back and visit us in the freezing winter. I think it’s a perfect excuse for a return trip! 😉 Hope to see you again! Warmly, Tom
Met at the clock tower and then checked out the city hall, Odori park, a great view from the TV tower and the Hokkaido Shrine where we learned about how you pray and enter, which was interesting. During our walk between sights we learned about some of Sapporo’s history, how, why and who founded the city. We then got to the fish market where we had a very tasty lunch and afterwards we went to this really neat, retro coffee house where you could also get a matcha latte. It was quite good and Tom was then kind enough to show us to the store where they sold the matcha. He even helped us find our next activity. He was a very attentive guide who helped our group get to know his city and each other which made the whole experience lots of fun!
Thank you for this wonderfully detailed review and for sharing your beautiful photos! It was a joy to explore Sapporo with you all. I loved how everyone in the group connected so well—it truly made the day feel like a walk with close friends. Since the timing worked out perfectly, I was more than happy to make a quick detour to help you find that matcha shop and your next stop! Sometimes those unplanned moments are the best part of traveling. Thank you for bringing such great energy. Wishing you many more fun adventures in Asia! Sincerely, Tom
Wow, excellent history information, easily walkable and knowledgeable. Great short excursion then you can visit sites on your own. Lunch is included - sashimi, miso soup, rice. Then you can walk it off shopping.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. I’m really glad you enjoyed the historical insights and found the route comfortable to explore on foot. I’m also happy to hear the tour offered a nice balance between guided time and the freedom to discover more on your own. I’m pleased you enjoyed the meal as well. I hope you had a great time exploring and shopping afterward. I would love to welcome you again on another adventure in the future.
We had a wonderful tour! I recommend doing this tour as soon as you get to Sapporo to learn about the history of the city and get your bearings. Our tour guide, Iku, met us on time at the clock tower. It was a particularly cold day and she brought hand warmers for our kids. Iku was a fantastic guide; the tour was interactive and she asked us questions to engage us as we learned. She was patient with our kids and taught them about Japanese culture. We felt like we made a new friend. The tour was relaxed and we learned a lot about the city that we would not have learned on our own. The tour was a perfect length and ended with a delicious lunch.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It really means a lot to me. I’m so glad you enjoyed the experience and that the kids had a good time too, even on such a cold day. Your kids were so curious and engaged throughout the tour, which made it even more enjoyable for me. It was a pleasure spending time with your family, and I truly appreciate you joining the tour. I hope you had a wonderful stay in Sapporo and that we’ll meet again someday!
Tom was a very friendly and gracious tour guide. We were late because we got mixed up about the meeting place, not realizing on our first day in Sapporo that the large tower with a digital clock on it that we could see from our hotel room was NOT the Sapporo Clock Tower but the Sapporo TV Tower. The company reached out to look for us much to their credit and waited for us to join. We hit all the highlights in good time but lunch we had to wait for our table because there were other customers seated and our group was big and it was limited seating. The rice bowl was super yummy though. Overall a memorable experience even though it started with a small panic about being in the wrong place.
Dear Lauren, I am so glad the initial panic turned into a memorable experience! You make a valid point about the TV Tower's digital clock being visually misleading. We appreciate this feedback and will look into making the meeting instructions clearer for future guests. I also appreciate your understanding regarding the seating at lunch. It is a popular local spot that can get busy, but I am thrilled to hear the rice bowl was super yummy!
