Best Private Tour
If you’re visiting Athens, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Yannis. It was, without question, one of the highlights of our entire trip to Greece. Yannis is incredibly knowledgeable about Greek history, but what truly sets him apart is how he brings it to life. He tells the stories in a way that’s engaging, entertaining, and easy to follow for both adults and older kids. Our entire family was captivated from start to finish. Beyond the Acropolis and the major historical sites, Yannis showed us parts of Athens we never would have discovered on our own. He took us to an amazing coffee spot, brought us to the highest point in Athens for breathtaking panoramic views, and even took our son to a pharmacy when he needed one. It wasn’t just a tour—it felt like exploring the city with a knowledgeable local who genuinely cared that we had the best possible experience. Because of Yannis, we were able to see and do far more than we ever could have managed on our own. His recommendations, flexibility, and personal attention made the entire day seamless, memorable, and incredibly enjoyable. He even helped us get soccer tickets. We cannot recommend Yannis highly enough. He made our day in Athens unforgettable, and if we return, he will be the very first person we contact.

Amazing private tour of Athens
We had a wonderful full day private with Giorgio. He was a genuine local, born and raised in Athens. It was fun learning Athens history and talking with Giorgio about philosophy and many more interesting subjects. He took us to all the main sites, but also to some “more local” places. We ate at a great local cafe and visited the local cultural center. For two seniors, we think this was the right to tour Athens!

OLESYA was the best
Licensed guide, Olesya, and her driver after picking us up early at ports and hotels, had the combined six of us at the Acropolis by 11:00 am to begin our private tour with all the fast-track admission tickets for both the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. She knew ancient Greek history (which gods and goddesses took center stage in its many temples), and communicated all of it in perfectly spoken English, with her beautiful smile. She also emphasized the architecture - the work, the details, precision, and required skill of building the Parthenon. And just as impressive as her knowledge was, she also recognized everyone’s personalities and stayed attentive to everyone’s needs during the very thorough tour. The Acropolis Museum is a majestic building of contemporary architecture, located some 300 meters south of the foot of the Sacred Rock. Part of the remains dating from Late Roman and early Byzantine times, appear in the opening of the floor in front of the museum entrance, quite a contrast to the museum itself. And very importantly, the museum has scale model replicas of some of the most notable parts of the Parthenon that have been destroyed through time. In conclusion, my wife told me to add to this review, that Olesya is “like Emily in Paris”.

Perfect Full Day Athens Tour
It’s the perfect full day tour of Athens. Our guide George was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable about Greece, ancient and current. Guided us to some hidden gems and gave us amazing dining options. I would highly recommend.

Perfect day in Athens

Not quite what is advertised
Our driver Makis was very accommodating despite the big discrepancies between the itinerary provided with the tickets and what he said the company had given him. The overall duration was shorter than the one stated on the ticket and the driver told us that two of the programmed stops could not be done because they were not on his itinerary. One of them the Ancient Athens agora. I think it is overpriced for the time we were given. Specially disappointing is the fact that you feel you were duped. I hope Viator does not keep this company in the future if these discrepancies are not addressed.

Dear Jorge Figueroa, Thank you for your review. We respectfully disagree with several of the points raised, as they do not accurately reflect the tour that was booked and delivered. The tour purchased was clearly advertised as an 8-hour full day private tour of Athens, including prepaid admission tickets to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. These services were provided exactly as described. During the tour, your driver was informed of your desire to revisit the Acropolis at sunset. Unfortunately, by that stage of the day it was not possible to redesign the itinerary to accommodate a second Acropolis visit while also completing the scheduled program. Had this preference been communicated in advance, we could have recommended a later start time and structured the day accordingly. Regarding the Ancient Agora, admission tickets to this site are not included in the tour price and this is clearly stated in the tour description. It appears there may have been an assumption that entry to the Ancient Agora was included at no additional cost, but this was never part of the package purchased. The fact that a site is mentioned or passed during the tour does not mean admission tickets are included unless specifically stated in the inclusions. We would also like to clarify that the full tour duration was honored. The driver continued the tour after lunch and ensured that the experience lasted approximately the advertised 8 hours. In addition, members of your party were dropped off at different locations, with some guests being dropped at the National Garden and others at their hotel, as requested. We appreciate your kind comments regarding Makis, who did his best to accommodate your requests throughout the day. However, we cannot agree with the suggestion that the tour was misleading or that you were "duped." The itinerary, inclusions, exclusions, and duration were clearly outlined prior to booking, and the services provided were consistent with those descriptions. Absolutely amazing experience
Yannis was extremely knowledgeable and was great at telling us about the history and mythology of Athens. He also recommended an amazing place for lunch, which truly was delicious! Definitely a must-do if you plan on exploring Athens.

AN EXCITING, INTERESTING AND COMFORTABLE TOUR
My husband and I didn't know what to expect in a huge city like Athens. However, we had no need to be concerned. Our pleasant and knowledgeable guide, Gianni took excellent care of us. We were blessed to be taken to areas and monuments that we didn't know were in Athens and they had beautiful architecture, and Gianni shared their history with us. We had Fast Track tickets to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, we were there on time and afterwards Giannis was right there waiting for us. His knowledge of the area, his driving experience in the very busy traffic, and his sharing of the history of the city was so interesting and we really felt educated afterwards. Our visit to the Athens Changing of the Guard, outside Parliament was a fantastic experience not to be missed. WHAT A TREAT! Afterwards we were safely delivered to Port in Gianni's very clean car. We highly recommend this tour and this guide, he took good care of us and we felt totally safe.
